/If anyone tells you a woman can work outside the home AND be a "great mom" they are either lying or deceived. NO ONE can do both well. /
*Looks around* Hmm. My mom has juggled multiple part-time jobs along with being a housewife and I think that my brother and I turned out okay. We both agree that she's a great mom, because believe me, without her, I really don't know what we or our dad would do.
/Because that woman IS letting someone down and someone is suffering for her choice./
How? She makes money for herself and for us, she gets out of the house, she gets the satisfaction of working, and she's able to come home before any of us do. Sorry, I don't see how she's letting any of us down.
/Employment outside the home, particularly full-time, indeed leads to a high rate of divorce. We've seen this over the years./
Really? My parents are still married and they both work. My grandparents are still married, my grandfather's retired, and my grandmother still works in a dental office. Many of my parents' married friends work. Sources, sources.
/It also emasculates the man/
Are you kidding me? My dad was THRILLED when my mom found a new job after quitting her old one. He WANTED her to find work, so that she'd be earning more money and so she'd be able to get out of the house. He kept bugging her all the time that she was unemployed to find a new job. He's still the principal breadwinner of the family, but that doesn't change the fact that he's more than happy that my mom works, too.
/and his God-given role to be the provider and protector of the family./
Like I said before, if it weren't for my mother, I don't see how any of us could get through the day. I'm not saying that my father doesn't spend any time with us or provide for us in any way. Of course he does, but SHE DOES, TOO. Besides, what about all the single mothers out there, who don't have a "provider and protector of the family?" What, do you want them to just beg on the street since in your eyes, they're not supposed to work?
/In addition, it increases his adamic bent to be lazy./
Please, my father has so many people at work busting his chops, I don't think he could afford to be lazy, even if my mother works. Besides, in this day and age, sometimes the economy requires both parents of a family to work in order for that family to survive. Get over yourself.
