"Atheistic science" is descriptive term for science that clings to materialistic explanations at the complete exclusion of biblical insights and phenomena not explainable by materialism. There may be Christians who pursue atheistic science as a way of getting a degree or putting food on the table.
The circular statement that "if there is a 6.0 earthquake in Napa, then it is on an active fault line" is not illuminating. A good theory, which goes beyond atheistic science, is needed to predict and explain earthquakes better.

"if there is a 6.0 earthquake in Napa, then it is on an active fault line" is extremely useful when combined with some knowledge about what other characteristics "active fault lines" have. For example, since fault lines don't appear and disappear at random, a location that tends to get earthquakes will continue to get them, and since fault lines are the borders of tectonic plates, plotting earthquakes on a map should form a jigsaw pattern.
And I'm getting this stuff from a high school science class. Actual geologists could be more thorough.
biblical insights
Ok, I'll bite... what in the Bible will enable you to explain earthquakes AND predict them?
...

Hmm... you seem awfully quite all of a sudden. Having trouble finding anything that works?
#1703313,
The gays!!!!! If there are any gays living in the universe, there will be earthquakes! And liberals! And atheists!
Are all of you happy now, libtards? This earthquake was YOUR fault! YOU made Jesus punish us with earthquakes! This is what YOU made him do!
Yes, because "Goddidit" as a punishment, is so scientific. Next, you'll be complaining about science correctly explaining thunderstorms and hurricanes, and not seeing them as God punishing people.
@Lemonaidemon
ROTFL!
It is a well known fact that atheistic geological reasons account for 1/3 of all earthquakes and it's a little known fact that almost 2/3 are caused by Bible God magic. The precise mystical mechanism has not yet been revealed though it is known that erroneous aiming plays an important part in the process as well as prolonged consultation with ceiling moths. It is presently unknown what causes the little bit of earthquakes that are unaccounted for, though it's thought that mental illness may play a part.
So-called "atheistic science" will find a theory with explaining power. Besides, we already know that earthquakes can happen on the interior of tectonic plates.
And the fail is complete when you realise that Napa is indeed on an active fault.
It's secular science, stupid, and yes, it does exclude magic solutions. The only way to get a science degree is to not study pseudo-science, yes.
Geologists already knew about the San Andreas fault system, before this Napa earthquake.
An hypothesis can't become a "good theory", unless you use the "atheistic" scientific method, dumbass!
A good theory, which goes beyond atheistic science, is needed to predict and explain earthquakes better.
WTF more do you need to explain the earthquake? Seismologists already knew that the area has many faults running through it. I suppose you're needing "God is punishing California for gay marriage" or something like that.
Whoo-EEE! I bet them size-mologisters was susprized when that there erthquick shook up Napa. Lookit 'em runnin' around, now, tryin' to come up with an feeble excuse, sayin' San Andreas went over there an caused it. Ya know San Andreas is Saint Andrew , doncha? One-a them CatLickers the fake Christians worship, prolly what made it happen. Baby Jesus don't cotton to none of that shit. "Fault lines", pffft! circular statement.
Riiiiight...because rain is what happens when clouds think of when Jebus was on the cross and they start to cry.
I'm all but certain Assfly would be begging for those marvelous medical advances created by that dastardly "atheistic science", if he ever was in some critical condition.
I'm also all but certain that as soon as he was out of the hospital and back on his keyboard, he would resume condemning the very "pseudoscience" that saved his miserable, pissant life. Hell, maybe he'll straight-up attribute his survival to Gawd.
And sadly, this statement is brought to you by a university educated engineer.
Which leads me to only one conclusion.
Andy Schlafy is a liar.
I've grown bored of fundies who base their conclusions on crazy misinterpretation of real facts. But when they do this based on blatantly false information that they made up, it's a whole new level of crazy. Do they seriously believe that they are going to convince anyone this way? Or do they just want to convince themselves that they are correct, because they'd rather be looked at as loonies than admit that they're wrong?
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
