In Afghanistan, and most original societies in general, the men eat first; and it is the OLD WOMEN who enforce this culture.
Why?
Because the OLD WOMEN know that without the men, they have nothing, not even children.
The OLD WOMEN know it is the warriors who protect and defend the tribe from all threats.
If your tribe is defeated in battle, your young fertile women and children will be snatched, and all others will have their throats slit; including the OLD WOMEN.
This is why the OLD WOMEN make sure the men eat first.
OLD WOMEN have common sense, thats how they got old.
