I noticed that in response to my last post, one atheist came back with his most powerful weapon for the argument that nothing created everything. He linked to the video clip “Why doesn't God heal amputees?”

Good question. Here’s some more: Why doesn't God grow hair on bald heads, make short people tall, make blind people see, replace missing teeth, cut my grass, and find my lost car keys?

And why does He put up with people who ask mindless questions? We don't know. One thing we do know is that He is holy and perfect, and we have to face Him on Judgment Day.

The point, as usual, flew right over Ray's empty head.

Losing one's car keys is nowhere on the same plane as losing one's legs or hands.

Maybe someone should lop off YOUR limbs and then maybe you'll understand.

According to you, Gawd listens to the prayers of billions every single day. Not diverts them to one of his secretaries or complies them on a message machine for him to delete later - he listens to ALL of them, and that includes dumber questions than "cut my grass".

The question "why doesn't God heal amputees" is raised to highlight that the supposedly omnipotent, benevolent god I am being asked to believe in will not or can not perform a healing that could only be miraculous. Instead I'm told of 'miraculous' recoveries from illness while under the best palliative and curative care, or divine deliverance from - frequently self-diagnosed - ailments with no visible symptoms, and thus no visible cure.

Oh, and short legs. Yup, the miraculous healing of people with "one leg shorter than the other" are legion. Though that does raise the question, if God can lengthen one leg pretty much on demand, as numerous faith healers claim to have demonstrated, why doesn't he ever lengthen both legs together and make short people tall after all?

The point of the question, Ray, is that religious nut jobs like you often claim that god does cure things like cancer or blindness..."Demon of the cataract be gone!". The problem with these "cures" is that we don't know that god really did anything. People are cured from cancer all the time, the blind person may have been a shill for the faith healer etc. We do know however that missing limbs do not regenerate themselves, it would at least some evidence of a miracle if the faith healer prayed to grow a leg back and low and behold it grew back as the congregation all spoke in tongues in unison.

Of course that never happens and the reason it never happens is because god never cures anything. It is almost as if he doesn't exist...

If you are faced with an unbrainwashed subject you really need to make yourself scarce and furthermore unavailable as your shit is obviously ridiculous and lame. Threatening them with judgement (or Hell) becomes your only recourse and you may not even need to make the choice to leave as you'll be laughed out.

Rays flock, luckily for him, are the type that make the Simpsons Cletus character look brilliant. I've certainly heard more wisdom from Cletus than Ray and his fully retarded fanbase.
Ray doesn't even remotely have to answer anything to his flock with sensible connected answers, all he needs to do is "Bible, God, Hell if you don't believe", his entire career is that, and he seems stupid because he is and he doesn't need to smarten up to fleece them at all.

They're pre-indoctrinated to bow to nonsensical preacher talk.
