However, even I know it's a fully-fledged religion and not just a cult.

OMG, con-oo is still around?! I first ran into her 8 years ago, and she was ranting about how Buddhism was a cult and Allah isn't the same as God, blah, blah, blah.

It's nice to know that in this crazy world, some things never change ... :)

Depending on how it is practiced, Buddhism can be a religion or a philosophy or something else entirely.

Sadly, there have been a large number of Buddhist terrorists. Consider the military government of Myanmar/Burma and some of the things that have happened there.

Despite the modern worlds attempts to alter the meaning of the word: All religions or belief systems followers ARE in CULTS. The numbers or official designations do not change this.
