In a report by the AFP, Ravina Shamdasani, a UN human rights office spokeswoman, said on Tuesday they have received reports of numerous women allegedly executed recently in ISIS-controlled areas, particularly Mosul. The women that have been targeted were "educated, professional women,” Shamdasani said. She added those most particularly at risk were women “who have run as candidates in elections for public office."

"In just the first two weeks of this year, reports indicate that three female lawyers were executed," Shamdasani said. The “monstrous disregard for human life” of the ISIS just knows no bounds, she said.

On Tuesday, the Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently activist group disclosed at least 13 teenage boys have been executed by the ISIS militants because they watched the Asian Cup match between Iraq and Jordan last week. The ISIS caught the young football fans watching the game on TV in Mosul. The game, which took place in Brisbane, Australia on Monday, finished 1-0 in favour of Iraq.

Raqqa is Being Slaughtered Silently said the young boys were rounded and publicly executed by a firing squad using machine guns. “The bodies remained lying in the open and their parents were unable to withdraw them for fear of murder by terrorist organisation,” the Daily Mail quoted the group. On a loudspeaker, the ISIS said the boys will be executed because they had committed a “crime,” which was watching football.

Earlier, the ISIS threw two men alleged to be gays from the top of a large tower overlooking the city. They likewise have stoned a woman accused of adultery to death as well as crucified 17 other young men as what was believed to be an act to avenge the deaths of 12 Syrian, Iraqi and Algerian jihadists.

If I didn't know better, I'd almost want to say ISIS was a Western plot to legitimise further intervention in the region considering the insane level of villainy these people commit. These people are comically evil, and we get to see the what the horrible implications of what comical evil looks like in the real world every report of an ISIS crime.

Time to Turn: I can't swear it isn't. And in terms of humanity, this is pathetic.

Killing teens because they watch sports, throwing gay people off buildings and now slaughtering professional, educated women...if I didn't know better, I'd say the fundies from America might have found their new heroes (minus the Jesus is God thing they love to claim is their reasoning for wanting such things).

Not to worry too much, guys. They're on the retreat. The Kurds forced them out of Kobane.

Hopefully everyone can go back to killing the Syrian Arab Army, the NDH, Hezbollah, and the Popular Front For The Liberation of Palestine.

On a loudspeaker, the ISIS said the boys will be executed because they had committed a “crime,” which was watching football.

Fucking fundies. Is there anything besides praying to their god that they don't find evil? I can understand how Islamic fundies put a ban on dancing, but watching soccer now warrants death? WTF is wrong with these people?

@FELIX LÆTVS:

I'd say the fundies from America might have found their new heroes (minus the Jesus is God thing they love to claim is their reasoning for wanting such things).

I'm frightened that if ISIS were a Christian terrorist group, they'd have plenty of support from Christian fundies here. After all, look at all the Putin worship because he oppresses gays.

ISIS O’Brien: ‘Do you remember writing in your diary, “Freedom is the freedom to say that two plus two make four”?’

ISIS Winston: ‘Yes,’

ISIS O’Brien (holds up his left hand, its back towards ISIS Winston, with the thumb hidden and the four fingers extended.): ‘How many fingers am I holding up?’

ISIS Winston: ‘Four.’

ISIS O’Brien: ‘And if the council says that it is not four but five — then how many?’

ISIS Winston: ‘Four.’ The word ended in a gasp of pain. The needle of the dial had shot up to fifty-five.

@Doubting Thomas,

For what it's worth, the majority of rightwingers do despise Putin. They were raised during the Cold War, after all, and so "Russian" means enemy to them. I've only seen a few admire Putin.

Goomy pls

It's official. Daesh deserves to die. As fast as possible.

This is one of very, very few cases where war might be justifiable. But we would need a quick effort, not an incompetent mess like Bush's misguided Iraq War was.

We don't really need to drop any bombs on these people. At the rate they're executing people, they should be able to wipe themselves out by the end of the year.

Doubting Thomas: No doubt. I've debated with christian fundies who have told me (while being fully aware that I am Pagan), that they'd like to bring back Witch trials and have people executed for practicing non-christian/non-jewish religions. They truly want a theocratic America. They want the right to be able to do what islamic fundy groups are doing and they resent the laws here in the US that prevent it.

I love living in my home state, but there are times when relocating to Canada is very tempting. I'd rather move to Ireland, but until they get the wingnuts that keep pushing for a theocracy under control, I can't see it being too different from what we live with over here.

I don't support war mongering. That said, can we please kill them all now?

Look closely, Christians, this is what you can become if you keep your path to extremism.

@StoneSpiral

I don't think they see that as a bad thing.

Holy crap, CRUCIFIXION?!?

The football thing doesn't surprise me at all, given that the Taliban punished women if the sound of their shoes could be heard (inspiring men to have sinful thoughts of high heels), and after all, other places in the Muslim world punish people caught with western movies. As for the treatment of women, this is just a step beyond Saudi Arabia, whose laws--including failure to punish "honor killings" against women, are rarely the subject of news reports. But crucifixion....they must be trying to prove they're holier than the Taliban ever was.

Original, Authentic Islam,

unmoderated by the centuries of sane Muslim law that humanized the religion during the "Golden Age" and has since been largely forgotten.

No learning, no music, no sports, no dancing, no color, no joy, no fun!

What is the appeal of joining these groups?

I know many are sucked in due to "looking for meaning", "having no direction", "angry about Western involvement in the Mid-East" or whatever....but NO DANCING, NO ART, NO SPORTS, NO FUN? What sort of young person would want to join "The Boredom & Prudery Club"?

Is it the superficial "You can be a murderous psychopath with impunity" thing? Do groups like Daesh or the Taliban attract the "Ted Bundies" of the world?

I can't fathom it. I just can't. The basic premise of that form of religion is pure boredom & drudgery.

@OhJohnNo
I've heard about the Kurds. I think they may be an asset against Daesh. Perhaps instead of getting directly involved in another war, we can aid the Kurds.

Also, find a way to cut off whatever it is that's funding Daesh.

Then educate young people and deal with whatever malaise they have than gets them sucked in these organizations.

"No learning, no music, no sports, no dancing, no color, no joy, no fun!"

- There will be no loyalty, except loyalty towards the Party. There will be no love, except the love of Big Brother. There will be no laughter, except the laugh of triumph over a defeated enemy. There will be no art, no literature, no science. There will be no curiosity, no enjoyment of the process of life. All competing pleasures will be destroyed. But always there will be the intoxication of power, constantly increasing and constantly growing subtler. Always, at every moment, there will be the thrill of victory, the sensation of trampling on an enemy who is helpless. If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face — forever.
