Court rulings upholding marriage equality are "a real danger to our liberty," Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) said in a radio interview Monday.
In response, Cruz told WHO radio host Jan Mickelson, he plans to introduce a constitutional amendment to allow states to ban same-sex marriage.
"We have seen judges, and especially the Supreme Court, ignoring the law," Cruz said. He later added, “If the courts were following the Constitution, we shouldn’t need a new amendment, but they are, as you put it quite rightly, 'making it up' right now and it’s a real danger to our liberty."

Because of course only white, straight Christian conservatives are entitled to liberty.
I've got some news for you - "liberty" is not defined as you getting your way all the time.
And of course, this man has to be a fucking senator. And for bonus points, he's from Texas. Is anyone surprised? In addendum, THAT'S NOT HOW LIBERTY WORKS!
No, Ted. Republicans are a danger to our liberty.
Shut the fuck up, you demented Mr. Haney-lookalike.

Whereas shutting down the government is puppies and rainbows(the non gay kind).
Where in the Constitution does it say "Don't treat niggers wimmin icky gays as human beings"?
You plan to introduce a constitutional amendment, but they are "making it up"? How come you are not "making it up"? Because you like what you're saying?
How can allowing people the liberty to get married to their consenting adult loved one, be a danger to liberty?
For fuck's sake, Cruz! If legalizing gay marriage is going to affect your marriage, then either you or your wife have been living a lie.
"We have seen judges, and especially the Supreme Court, ignoring the law."
Judges, and especially the Supreme Court, exist to prevent tyranny of the majority.
Ted, Ted, still trying to remain on-stage? WHAT liberty is endangered? That unwritten "right to bully" anyone who's "different" in any way? Please, go back under your rock for a few years. When you come out, you will find that nobody has missed you.
You KNOW we're in deep trouble when people start accusing the Roberts court of being too liberal.
Introduce all you want Ted. There isn't a snowball's chance in hell of that amendment getting anywhere.
"and it’s a real danger to our liberty."
Actually it's the opposite, it gives you even more liberty, the liberty to marry another person of the same gender as you. You should be applauding it. You dick.
Republicans actually make more sense if you replace every word they clearly don't understand (liberty, oppression, communist, Marxist et al) with 'smurf'.
"We have seen judges, and especially the Supreme Court, smurfing the law," Cruz said. He later added, “If the courts were following the smurf, we shouldn’t need a new amendment, but they are, as you put it quite rightly, 'smurfing it' right now and it’s a real smurf to our smurf."
You know what's a danger to our liberty? Same-sex marriage bans. Even though I am not g3igh, it still removes my right to marry a person of the same sex. Granted, I do not wish to do so, but neither do many g3ighs want to marry a person of the opposite sex.
Go back to reading Green Eggs and Ham.
I will never understand how people can honestly believe that equality , of all fucking things, is somehow a danger to liberty.
I guess the word "equality" is much like "bigot" and "net neutrality", in that people like Cruz have no fucking clue what it actually means but they do know they oppose it and will not have you labeling them as (a supporter of) it.
If the courts were following the Constitution, we shouldn’t need a new amendment
The Constitution does not say "no queers allowed".

You are right! I will totally steal that idea.
