If you can prove evolution to me , like show me how it has been usefull for scientific research , then i'll stop being a christian. Try your best.

Oh my:
Given he's also been quoted saying this in January.

"you know what... I'm going to try to defend YECism untill proven completely wrong... Because it makes lots of sense to me, except there is so much evidence that counters it..."
OK RichardT, there's this whole field of science called biology, and apart from the obvious stuff like preserving the planet and increasing crop yields and animal husbandry efficiency, there's this amazing dark art called medicine - a lot of the things that make you sick are actually teeny weeny little organisms, not 'God' being Mr Cranky-Pants... It's also an integral part of genetics and pharmaceutical research.
Are you going to take up drinking now to fill the void, or become one of those worthles gullible dregs that fall under the spell of the Scientologists?
I'd prefer it if RichardT accepts evolution and then considers his Christianity to be a separate matter, decidable only with more information and argument.
Evolution doesn't do it alone, even though it helps.
Translation:
"There is absolutely no evidence, however obvious, valid, or conclusive, that will change my mind."
Look, dude. There's this book, it doesn't assume any knowledge of molecular biology or DNA mechanics, it uses examples everyone is familiar with. It explains evolution in terms any semi-literate adult can understand. It's called *The Origin of Species* by Charles Darwin. You might have heard of this book.

Lol , you obviously don't know what I mean , creationists had to come up with the term "micro-evolution" for this reason.
I believe in the creationist term "micro-evolution" , which is in a sense , evolution , but not evolution over millions of years. Just clearing up this for you.
Maybe I should have said in the OP, prove "macro-evolution", which is a creationist term, I wanted to try to find a non-creationist term that I could possibly use that would mean "micro-evolution over millions of years" , but couldn't find any , evolutionist will just use the term "evolution", which isn't too helpfull in my case.
RichardT - you are one of the most witless, dull, boring, depressingly stupid people I've ever had the misfortune to encounter.
Please go away!

So... you acknowledge, unlike some creationists I have encountered, that "macroevolution" is just "microevolution" over a long period of time? Good for you! No, I mean that seriously. It's really frustrating to deal with people who refuse to accept that.
Now, do you accept that "microevolution" is useful for scientific research? If you do, you've already accepted that "macroevolution" is, since they're the same thing.
Moreover, the goal of scientific research is to understand how the universe works. Understanding the history of the universe is a part of that, and so, understanding how life diversified over time, and understanding why we have the features that we do (and lack the ones we don't have), and understanding why we find the fossils we do in the places we do, are all fruitful scientific endeavours, or, in your words, are "usefull for scientific research".
Note that I'm not trying to stop you being a christian. Quite the opposite. Your stubborn refusals of the evidence for an old earth, and evolution, indicate an unwillingness to accept reality that I don't find commendable in anyone, let alone someone who might be grouped with me (ie, an atheist) by some people. Many (most) christians DO accept evolution (and an old earth!) there's no contridiction between the two. In fact, only a very small-minded view of christianity would prevent acceptance of evolution. Are you claiming to know the mind of god, or do you admit that there are more things in heaven and earth, than is dreamt of in your philosophy?
1.) Using the ToE taxnomists have been able to succesfully figure out humanity's place in the web of life. It's also being used to help predict new strains of anti-biotic resistant bacteria and thus can be used to make new medicine.
2.) You can still be a Christian moron. It's called theistic evolution and the idea is that God made evolution as a way for life to look after itself and that the book of Genesis is a metaphorical, not literal story.

No you do not understand creationist thinking. They think evolution means that one day a cat gives birth to a dog or a parrot begats a turtle. They in fact say "you never see one species change into another"
However if we are going to talk microevolution - wolves to hundreds of species of dogs is pretty impressive I would think. Only knowing the intermediate steps keeps a great dane and miniature poodle the same species. Thy are certainly more different looking than a sheep and a goat.
It's true: You will never be able to prove evolution to a fundie.
Not for lack of scientific merit on the part of ToE, but simply because of their rotating defenses that make them all but impregnable to reason.
If reality says something directly contrary to the Bible, reality must be wrong.
If a logically airtight argument leads to a conclusion that the pastor says is wrong, then logic isn't good for anything.
It's truly sad, and a little bit terrifying, but there you go. That's the basic nature of a fundie: Go to any length necessary to avoid having to realize that you're wrong.
@Berny:
You win a tray of hot fresh-baked internets.
@NonHomogenized:
Beautifully put. Thank you on behalf of the many (most -- dare we believe it?) Christians who think that any omniscient deity behind the universe might actually want us to use this highly-evolved (ahem) organ between our ears.
If you can prove evolution to me , like show me how it has been usefull for scientific research...
Oh yeah?
Artificial life, developed through the understanding of evolution
Observable evolution in synthetic DNA
But of course that is not going to be good enough, is it? It never is, because no matter what is presented as proof, the likes of you are going to simply cast it aside as the trickery of the devil or some other nonsense like that.
Incidentally, try to learn something on your own, rather then letting your clergy spoon-feed you bullshit, 'cuz no one cares whether you stop being a Christian or not, as long as you stop being an ignoramus.
You don't seem particularly susceptible for some reason...
Why should anyone prove it to you? There are countless books out there where you can read about it for yourself.
False dichotomy to round it up too, I see. It's not either Christian or science, you can be a Christian and still accept science. You see, Ricky dearie, in the real world it's seldom just either/or, it's mostly several different things at the same time.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
