[The numbers inexplicably started at 25.]
25. Not all "fundies" are after a theocracy.
26. Just because we're against abortion doesn't necessarily mean we're a "fundy."
27. Just because we happen to be right-wing doesn't mean we're automatically a "fundy" either.
28. Fundamentalists are not "narrow minded."
29. Fundamentalists are not sexually frustrated.
30. Fundamentalists are not people who go around telling everyone they're going to Hell unless they become fundamentalists.

25. true
26. Depends on the arguments you use.
27. Depends on your mindset concerning "science", science and society.
28. I thought fundamentalists were narrow minded, they are all "I'm right and you're wrong." That is what makes someone a fundamentalist.
29. Those who goes preaching abstinance are.
30. Those are religious fundamentalists, a subset.
25. No, but those that aren't are going to hell right?
26. No, but the opposite holds.
27. No, but the opposite holds.
28. That's a terribly narrow minded PoV you've got there.
29. You're talking about the dead ones now aren't you!
30. Correct - they don't say, "unless they become fundamentalists."
25. I doubt JoJo fully understands what a Theocracy is.
26. No, the arguments you have put forward in support of your belief makes you a fundy.
27. Correct. I know a right wing atheist.
28. Actually, that's practically a definition.
29. Married ones that don't mind 20 kids are not anyways.
30. See # 28.
<<< 25. Not all "fundies" are after a theocracy. >>>
No, but many, probably most, are.
<<< 26. Just because we're against abortion doesn't necessarily mean we're a "fundy." >>>
Agreed, though I still think you're wrong about the subject.
<<< 27. Just because we happen to be right-wing doesn't mean we're automatically a "fundy" either. >>>
Also agreed.
<<< 28. Fundamentalists are not "narrow minded." >>>
Wrong.
<<< 29. Fundamentalists are not sexually frustrated. >>>
I can't say for certain, but many of you certainly act that way.
<<< 30. Fundamentalists are not people who go around telling everyone they're going to Hell unless they become fundamentalists. >>>
Oh, so those folks are figments of my imagination?
Yeah, the original poster began with:
"This post is to finally get some of these retarded stereotypes and ideas out of peoples heads heads.
1. Catholics don't worship or pray to the dead.
2. Black women are at highest risk for AIDS not gays.
3. Condoms DO protect against AIDS. That "Holes" thing was a lie.
4. Muslims won't blow you up. These people are called "Extreamist". And saying that they are one in the same is like me saying Phred Phelps is a good symbol for Christianity.
5. Non-Christians are not all "Atheist" PLEASE STOP THAT!!!!!
6. Satanist don't worship Lucifer. Lucifer (your devil) is worshiped by "Lucifarians".
7. Most (note most) non-christians are not here to troll or secretly learn from you guys.
8. Morality does not come from holy figures.
9. The USA was not founded on Christianity.
10. Evolution does not state we "came from monkeys".
11. Darwin didn't denounce his theory on his death bed.
12. Buddhism does not state that Buddha is a god.
13. It's posable to "mix" Buddhism with Christianity."
To which other posters added:
14. Not all Christians treat people like crap for being sinners.
15. Atheist does not equal god haters
16. CHRISTIANITY IS A RELIGION! Get over it
17. Homosexuals are NOT more likely to be pedophiles
18. Sexual abuse doesnt turn people homosexual
19. AIDS is not only spread by sex
20. Guns N' Roses is NOT a metal band
21. Atheist doesnt equal evolutionist
22. Christians can use their brains, if they cared to
23. Christians can believe in evolution/big bang and still believe that god created the universe
24. Throwing watch parts together in a box and shaking them in an attempt to have them rebuild the watch is not an equivalent of the Big Bang.
25. Evolution, as a theory, is not a one way street, it's a branching tree. Stop saying, "Why are monkies still around then?" A piece of every intelligent person, believer of creation or evolution, on this board dies everytime you do that.
26. "Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve" is not an acceptable Biblical defense that homosexuality is a sin.
27. Christians are not immune to doubt.
27. Evolution is not "just a theory."
20. No one can define God so stop asking.
21. Yes you can be Christian and logical.
22. I don't believe in the tooth fairy just because I belive in God.
23.Yes i've read through the bible and still believe.
It was actually a really good discussion thread, and JoJo just had to put her 2 cents in and bring it down to her level.
31. Fundamentalists are not capable of recognizing the irony of attempting to redefine reality to claim that they aren't being/doing the very things that mark them as fundamentalists.
Actually, I will go along with #25 and #29 (at least insofar as #29 refers to ALL fundamentalists) #26 seems to be false, if only because I have *never* heard of anyone objecting to abortion on anything but religious grounds; and #27 is true if you're referring just to religious fundamentalism, but the far right is a subset of political fundamentalism just as staunch as the religious groups that tend to strongly overlap with it, so that is false, too.
On #28 and #30, those are dead wrong; the first is a core aspect of any kind of fundamentalist, and the second is a core aspect of any kind of religious fundamentalist. To claim otherwise on these is worthy of a Cleopatra Award (referring to the Queen of Denial).
~David D.G.
25. Yes, only most RELIGIOUS fundies
26. Agreed.
27. Theoretically possible, however, the farther you go to in either left or right extreme, the less likely a person is to be flexible with their ideas, and be by definition, a fundamentalist
28. And circles are not round and squares are not cornered
29. Only non-religious fundies, or pro-polygamy fundies
30. Yes, only religious ones do that
"25. Not all "fundies" are after a theocracy."
Oh, I'm sure not ALL are. But most seem to be.
"26. Just because we're against abortion doesn't necessarily mean we're a "fundy.""
No. It just means you're a scientifically illiterate idjit.
"27. Just because we happen to be right-wing doesn't mean we're automatically a "fundy" either."
Indeed not. But there's a pretty solid correlation there, too.
"28. Fundamentalists are not "narrow minded.""
Indeed. It makes no sense to call something which is mindless "narrow minded".
"29. Fundamentalists are not sexually frustrated."
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
"30. Fundamentalists are not people who go around telling everyone they're going to Hell unless they become fundamentalists."
Actually, they are.
I love how JoJo uses a list of things that, when taken together, are damn fine indicators of fundiehood, and claims that each, independently, is either wholly untrue, or not necessarily true.
25.) Correct.
26.) Correct. ("Fundy" is a subset of "pro-life movement." The reverse is true, just not this statement.)
27.) Correct. (It's another subset case.)
28.) Incorrect.
29.) Incorrect, now go get laid.
30.) OH GODS INCORRECT. (cf. half this site )
That's 50% on your quiz, which nets you an F. See me after class.
So,
a) You are against choice.
b) You believe women are property.
c) You are against change.
d) You want a strict rule of religion,
e) Yet, are not educated or intelligent enough to know what a theocracy is (which literally means "god's government".)
f) You repeatedly attempted word redefinition, rather poorly, I might add.
g) And show a characteristically high lapse of rationality.
h) Not to mention the typical denial, as obvious from 28, 29 & 30.
Conclusion: You are a fundamentalist worm that wriggles pitifully under the piercing light of reason, looking for cover in shallow arguments and behind flimsy rhetorics, and hence your fate is but ruin.
1. Correct.
2. Plausible, but most arguments stem from religious causes.
3. Definitely correct.
4. By definition, you have to be; you must firmly believe certain things are correct no matter what based on authoritative arguments.
5. True.
6. True. B == A but A != B
"25. Not all "fundies" are after a theocracy. "
True there are atheist ones too
Everything else though is wrong
31. No Pooftahs!
32. Now, I don't want to catch anyone not having sex, so as to show up those pro-Choicers!
33. No Pooftahs!
34. There is always... Rule 34.
35. No Pooftahs!
Right, that concludes the reading of the rules, Dio. I mean, Bruce.
I do actually believe a lot of Fundies don't want Theocracy even though many of their brethren and preachers do. Just remember, they live in the real world and visit that church gathering only a little in comparison, they know they'd rather have their boss, or mailman, convenience store worker or cat running the country then their preacher , church elders or members. You can handle the wackadoo in small doses but many in no damn way think clergy clowns are capable or intelligent enough to be just rulers.
This is one of the reasons I like the outspoken Atheist movement, let these people know they're not alone, many are just putting up with the religion under family and peer pressure.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
