My 15 year niece said three gay boys got beat up at her school. She feels so bad. They now want to start a Gay-Straight alliance. I said NO. These groups are not solving anything. They are just making everyone believe that being gay is OK.

Yeah, no Gay-Straight alliances! Maybe if gays get beat up enough they'll start pretending to be straight so that fundies don't feel threatened!
Wait, that sounds kind of stupid, doesn't it? Wouldn't it be better to be accepting, especially since someone ELSE being gay in no way threatens anything except your twisted, stupid world view? I swear, the next time I see some ass say something along the lines that being gay is bad I'm going to show them what a crucifixion feels like.
You can stop making everyone believe that genocide, blaming rape victims, starving children, and completely ignoring science is "OK." Then maybe I'll give two fucks about what you say. Until then, toss off.
The problem is homophobia, so I'd say that getting everyone to accept that being gay is okay would solve the problem beautifully; heck, it would completely erase the problem, if you truly could get EVERYONE to recognize this.

Yeah, you right! You'd better stamp out crap like that immediately. After all, those 3 beaten up gay boys are probably half way done in their project of turning your niece into a... a... LESBIAN! Oh, the tragedy of it all.
Being gay is wrong! It's almost as bad as having black hair, or size-8 feet, or an average-shaped nose, or green eyes!
Gamonenineseven, please give me an exact physical description of your body, and I'll come up with a long list of things about you that make you no better than a homosexual. (Wait, pi = 3 according to the Bible, but 0 = 0, right?)
Three cheers for your niece! It's rather pathetic, though, that a fifteen-year-old has more common sense and better judgment than you, a grown adult.
So, what do you want the homosexual boys to do? Pretend to be straight? Lie to everyone, including themselves? Make their future wives suffer by having gay affairs on the sly? The whole thing could have been avoided if all people just followed the Golden Rule stressed by Jesus, "Love your neighbor like yourself," or "Treat others as you would want to be treated." Being gay IS okay, and you and your narrow-minded ilk are not solving anything by insisting that it's not.
They are just telling the truth; being gay IS OK. Just like being left-handed or blue-eyed is OK. Neither of those things concerns you in the least. Me being blue-eyed has no impact on your life, gam, just like those kids being gay has no impact on your life.
Be happy that you have a Christ-like niece; kindness and empathy towards your fellow men would please Him, much more than your hatred.
"I said NO. These groups are not solving anything. They are just making everyone believe that being gay is OK."
In the same way that the Vatican, nay the Roman Catholic Church as a whole, is making everyone believe that being a paedophile is OK eh, gam197?

I disagree with homosexuality, but this crap is disgusting! Nobody should get beaten up just for being gay! Nobody deserves to get beaten up period! I respect what the niece is trying to do...it's not really about promoting homosexuality, it's about being a peacemaker; one kind of person on which Jesus Himself pronounced a blessing in Matthew chapter 5!
There is being gay , and that is fine.
There is being gay and trying to have buttsexxx(tm) with anything that hikds still for a moment. Thats not OK anymore than a guy trying to score with any women in his vicinity is OK.
cheers for the niece. Just suggest that she doesnt fall for the "I think I might be gay, have sex with me to return me to Jesus" line if she is not too bright.
At least one branch of your family tree looks healthy, then. Because being gay IS okay, and beating people up for being gay is not.
Mind you, the catholic church is almost as obsolete as the Save The Velociraptor Foundation, so why am I not surprised to read such shit on a catholic forum.
Confused?
