I'm pro-man's choice. I believe in a man's right to choose. The life growing inside the woman is 50% his, and I don't believe that the woman has a right to kill that life unless the father consents.
That's the only thing I'm hardcore about when it comes to this issue.

A woman's right to choose. I really hate that phrase. It's all just a very pretty nothing meant to make a horrendous act seem like a god given unimpeachable right. Next thing you know they'll be taking away our guns.

Honestly "a woman's right to choose" falls under the idea of "rationalising what's wrong" that I went over a few posts ago. It's this idea that you can come up with whatever excuse you need to to make abortion right in your head.

What about a man's right to choose? If I get a girl pregnant, she can go have an abortion, without my consent. She can choose to murder my child, without my consent at all, no matter what my beliefs on the matter. I'd actually feel a whole lot more comfortable about the issue of abortion if the fathers were given any consideration whatsoever. As it is, it seems women's "unimpeachable rights as americans" trump over integrity and decency in the end.

A woman's right to choose is a load of crap. It's gussying up something really quite ugly: That any woman at any time, simply feeling overwhelmed at the idea of being a mother, can just decide she doesn't want the responsibility, and terminate her child. For no better reason than she just doesn't want to deal with a kid right now in her life.

I think a good compromise would be to reform abortion laws like this:

1) In order for a doctor to perform an abortion, he must have the consent of BOTH parents. The man and the woman. A woman has no right to terminate a mans child without his consent.
2) The only exception is in cases of rape. In those cases a police report would have to have been filed within a certain timeframe after the rape, before the first missed period, to prevent overwhelmed mothers from crying rape just to get an abortion.
3) Any case for an abortion, excepting the cases of rape, must be reviewed before a judge. Financial standing and any mental disorders present in the mother must be taken in to account. If at the end of the day, the judge finds the mother is both financially able to support the child, and mentally capable of taking care of the child, the abortion is denied.

Well technically I'm not an anarchist. It's just easier to say I'm an anarchist than it is to say "I hate the american government, all current forms of government, and want a revolution, but I believe in old fashioned morals and religion and I don't believe a society could exist without some form of government." So though I proclaim to be an anarchist it is only because it allows me to fight our current form of government and society without a big fat explanation.

Yes that seems hypocritical but I really don't care. Revolution, defying conventions, defying society and authority; I share all those ideals with anarchists, but I don't believe in some of the more extreme views of anarchy. So I figure I might as well just call myself an anarchist.
So what if I hate authority. It is only because our current form of authority is stupid, irresponsible, hypocritical, greedy, and abusive. That doesn't mean that I would allow little children to be killed because I'm "supposed" to hate laws and government.

And it's not that I view pregnancy as a crime. It's that I view promiscuity as a crime. If you are stupid and sleep around than you're an idiot and you need to deal with the consequences of your stupid actions instead of punishing the unborn life you created through your stupid actions.
Two wrongs don't make a right and killing an innocent child because he/she is a child of rape is wrong. Carry the child, then if you really don't want it give it to a family who does.

[You cannot force a woman to go through the nine months of pregnancy just because the guy wants the child. It's the woman's body, it's her choice. I do however, feel that the father should at least be notified before an abortion because, for me, I'd be royally pissed if I suddenly found out that a girl had had an abortion without telling me. I wouldn't have tried to change her mind, I wouldn't have tried to influence her, I'd just want to know.]

*bleep* that. Seriously, *bleep* that whole mentality. I don't give a shit if it's her body. She shouldn't have spread her legs in the first place if she didn't want to take that risk. AS THE FATHER, I should have a say in whether or not my child is murdered, period, end of *bleep*ing story. I *bleep*ING HATE that mentallity that just because it's not in MY stomache, means I have no parental rights over the child. That's bullshit to the nth degree tyvm. It's still my *bleep*ing child.

I've been saying this for years. I disagree that a man shouldn't have to pay child support, but what really gets me hot is when people start going on about "a woman's right to choose" in regards to an abortion. If the father for religious, moral, or other reasons doesn't believe in abortion, well he's shit out of luck. He has no say in the process whatsoever and has to live forever knowing that his child was (at least in his mind) murdered and there was nothing he could do about it. Frankly, I won't be happy with abortion being a viable option until the clinics start requiring BOTH parent's consent, or a no contest (basically the man has not signed either a consent or nonconsent form, thus waiving his rights entirely, in which scenario, just as in no contest divorce cases, he must LEGALLY be informed that the mother is sueing for the right to an abortion and giving him roughly 30 days to respond with either a cease and desist or a go ahead).

That's the only way I will EVER be comfortable with abortion being legal.
