I have no respect for our government or its "founding principles." I uphold traditional Christianity, not Enlightenment, anti-Catholic liberalism, which has resulted in the disgusting, fallen society we have today. Toss the Constitution out, and institute a Catholic monarchy over the United States.

The founders and many of the early Americans were heretics and schismatics and outright non-Christians like Jefferson, I don't put much weight in their opinions or their tolerance of a "diversity of beliefs" which has now reached its inevitable logical end and come to accommodate outright, literal Satanism.

None of the present-day liberal activists have any respect for our founding fathers, either; they constantly critique their personal morality, their decision to allow guns, their tolerance of free speech aka "hate speech", support for religious liberty, etc. so if you think what I'm saying is particularly evil you should consider their views are basically identical, except they want to replace the US with a socialist state instead of a Catholic one.

So far as I can tell, nobody takes the failed American experiment seriously anymore aside for a handful of old boomers, who won't last much longer. Due to this rejection, everyone's gone authoritarian in one direction or the other, and I've made my choice in this regard.

Why stop at a monarchy if you could be really traditional and institute a prince-bishop or fifty? After all, remember all those northern European monarchs who converted to protestantism. Or maybe, the Emperor of America will attempt to control the Papacy, as the early Holy Roman Emperors and Kings of France liked to do - sometimes successfully, particularly for the latter (Avignon).
Ok, well, when I think about it, the Grand Master of the Teutonic Order was one of the first Lutheran rulers (by 1525, second only to Sweden) and promptly reorganised the Order's state into the Duchy of Prussia, so maybe, it is not that fool-proof. But it would be more theocratic!

It's perfectly reasonable to agree with the founding fathers over their vision for America, whilst criticising the less workable aspects, whilst maintaining an appreciation for the state of the political spectrum of their time. It's a shame that you hate the USA; if it wasn't for secularism, you might have to play second fiddle to a Protestant theocracy. Remember that the next time you rally against what gives you the right to air your views. You hate the one thing that allows you to practice your beliefs without repression, purely because it doesn't allow you to repress others through enforcing your dogma upon them. Shame. You might not find it so pleasant elsewhere, where you do not have the same right.

It's largely the old folk that are giving the religious a voice. The younger are, by and large, more secular and don't subscribe to the idea that there is a cultural decline and things are all going to the pot because of the lack of religion. They may argue about declining standards in some fields, but arguments about this are becoming more about whether capitalism is failing or whether the state has too much control.

No, some of us genuinely respect personal rights, so you can't excuse your desire for a Catholic theocracy by stating that the others are as bad. Vocal opposition to authoritarianism is not totalitarian.

Thank you for giving Oliver Cromwell more credibility in his cause that ultimately succeeded then, eatdeath.

A Parliamentary democracy, and the elimination of the 'Divine Right of Kings'; today, the basis of modern secular democracy with Rule of Law being paramount, a constitutional monarch (Queen Elizabeth II), who happens to be head of the state religion in that nation: Church of England. Protestant, as per Cromwell's cause which culminated in the English Civil War (which effectively started in my locale, refusing the Catholic King Charles I entry into Hull).

So I guess you're admitting that what resulted in your nation & it's Constitution - the War of Independence - was all for naught, because you wanted to be ruled by King George III; the fact he was Protestant being irrelevant, amirite?!

Either you consider the Great Experiment to be a failure (George W vs. George III), or the Great Experiment was a failure (USA sans state religion). Your choice. As in Hobson's.
