I am going to put this out there: Catholics are not Christians. Here's why.

*Neither a priest, a bishop, nor the pope himself, can absolve people of their sins. Only Jesus can do that.
*There is no purgatory. You cannot be prayed into heaven, or out of hell.
*You pray to God and Jesus, not Mary and Joseph. That's idolatry.
*Mary may be in heaven, but she was never sinless.
*There is no mediator between God and Jesus.

According to the Catholic faith, priests absolve sins only by the power of God & Jesus working through them. And actually, I was taught that God already forgives your sins, penance was just a ritual celebrating it. But frankly as a young Catholic I always hated it.

All just denominational differences in opinion and about as useful as arguing over how many angels can dance on the head of a pin. The fact, though, that Catholics worship Jesus as a personal savior means they are Christians.

3- Then what was the point of your 'God putting Mary in Le Club Pudding, then? Either she is a holy figure in Protestant Christianity too, as she was the Mother of God: Jesus, or your 'God' limits his 'Omnipotence' (because what was stopping him from merely thinking, and 'Poof!' Instant Jesus!), therefore he's not God, ergo he doesn't exist, and you're fucked.

...but then, the Protestant Buggars did exactly that: thus Proddys are Left-footers too; more so than Catholics, and what the likes of messrs. Luther, Kings Henry VIII & James I, and Oliver Cromwell did was all for naught.

Also, 'Touchdown Jesus' in Monroe, Ohio. What happened to that. Your argument is invalid.

4- Thus Jesus, and therefore God can never be sinless too. Abraham & Isaac: LYING. Hosea 13:16: Murder & Abortion. Joseph's betrothed, Mary: Adultery.

5- Therefore there's absolutely no fucking point in a religion which allows so much as Laity, never mind Preachers/Pastors.

Jesus delegated the power to "loose and bind" to Peter in Matthew 16:19 and 18:18. The RCC believes priestly authority flows from Peter in continuous "apostolic succession".

There is no purgatory. You cannot be prayed into heaven, or out of hell.
The RCC doesn't officially believe in Purgatory, though the belief was common enough in the past

Catholics don't pray to Mary. They ask Mary to "intercede" - pray for them to God.

Theoretically, only God knows that.

"pray for us, that the word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored ..." [2 Thessa. 3:1]
"Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you ..." [Matt. 5:44]

To play devil's advocate (or rather, Catholics' advocate):

Priests, bishops, and the pope don't absolve anyone of their sins. They are witnesses. It is God that Catholics believe absolved them. You have misunderstood the role of the priest.

Purgatory is in 2 Maccabees. What's that? It's not IN your Bible? Well then, why did you allow heretics to remove it?

Catholics don't pray to Mary or Joseph. They ASK Mary to pray for them. You have been lied to by your fundie pastor.

If Mary's not sinless, how could Jesus who IS sinless (as Christians believe), have sprung from her?

...and now secular law (PROTIP: Romans 13:1-5) has left fundies politically isolated after the 26th June SCOTUS decision - and empty threats towards Atheists, LGBT people etc are all they have left - then Christains are indeed turning on each other.
