Quote# 117606

On a recent "Pray In Jesus Name" program, Religious Right activist and Colorado state Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt praised members of a California school board for standing up to what he said was an evil and sinful judge who had ordered them to stop using public board meetings to proselytize on behalf of Christianity.

The Chino Valley Unified School board voted 3-2 earlier this month to appeal a court ruling from U.S. District Judge Jesus Berna ordering an end to the practice of "reciting prayers, Bible readings, and proselytizing at board meetings," and Klingenschmitt voiced his support for the board's effort to resist this demonically inspired ruling.

"Even this judge, whose first name is Jesus, hates Jesus," Klingenschmitt said. "So what is going on with this judge, who is he listening to? There is an invisible demonic spirit that is whispering to him, 'Abuse your power, judge. Turn the First Amendment upside down and ban religious expression with the power of the government sword.' And that's what this judge is doing and that sin is his voluntary cooperation with the demonic spirit that is influencing him."

Klingenschmitt said that he was grateful for the decision to appeal the ruling "because we need a holy judge to overturn this evil judge."

"There is an invisible demonic spirit that is whispering to him, 'Abuse your power, judge. Turn the First Amendment upside down and ban religious expression with the power of the government sword.'"

Gordon Klingenschmitt, yet another member of the ranks of those who thinks the First Amendment says "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of True Christianity, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or allowing an establishment of any religion other than True Christianity;"

3/21/2016 3:26:22 AM

So we can then allow other belief systems the same right or are you opposed to freedom Gordon?

3/21/2016 3:34:43 AM

Churchy LaFemme

And the first time an imam asks to present a prayer at the Chino Valley Unified School Board meeting, Klingenschmitt will be the first to point out that the First Amendment doesn't allow that.

3/21/2016 5:05:42 AM

This Klingenschmitt is correct, and my church will be praying for his success in overturning this satanic judge. There are still some real Christians left in California, and they need Jesus' blessings now more than ever. They also have many Catholic Hispanics, who need to be proselytized to, and schools are good starting points in that. Christians are Blessed. Christian families are Blessed. Christian towns are Blessed. And Christian countries are Blessed. And certainly Christian schools are Blessed, and if the members of that school board are real Christians, they need be praised for doing their job with Jesus on their side!

In the name of the Lord,

Bring on the satanists and let them proselytize their beliefs. Bring on all religions and afford them the same opportunity.

Now, just step back and watch the christians explode.

Doubting Thomas

So what is going on with this judge, who is he listening to?

The Constitution of the United States of America.

3/21/2016 5:42:19 AM

Jerry didn't you read the part of the bible where Jesus told his followers to pray in private?

3/21/2016 5:50:20 AM

Oh sure Klingenschmitt, go ahead and safely support a losing battle in another state. It's not as if it's your state's money and time that's being wasted is it?

3/21/2016 6:28:38 AM

Mister Spak

"Rep. Gordon Klingenschmitt praised members of a California school board for standing up to what he said was an evil and sinful judge who had ordered them to stop using public board meetings to proselytize on behalf of Christianity. "

We should proselytise on behalf of Islam, Klingenschmitt will have a stroke and we'll be rid of him.

Don't these people know what the First Amendment is for. I bet the school board will change it's mind if they're sued because they're ignoring the bit about freedom of religion.

@ Jerry

So not only do you not know what your own bible says, you also don't know what the Constitution says as well.

3/21/2016 7:40:55 AM

Wait a minute, I thought your lot believed that god was gonna judge them. Now you're ......er........ Oh, y'mean besides god judging you, and Jesus judging you, and Jesus-the-California-human-judge judging you, you need to find your own pet judge that'll approve? Presumably a judge that hasn't read the constitution? Oh. Try Alabama.

3/21/2016 7:53:29 AM

Opening the Pandora's box of religious proselytization at public meetings in California should be amusing.

3/21/2016 8:31:52 AM

Churchy LaFemme

"because we need a holy judge to overturn this evil judge."

You know where else holy judges decide the law? Sharia courts.

3/21/2016 8:50:44 AM

Demon Duck of Doom

I'll accept this, so long as the Flying Spaghetti Monster gets His Noodly Dues as well. I'll assist, as a Reverend of the Church.

3/21/2016 9:02:01 AM

Chino, CA.; That's the hometown of Chick Tracts!

Must be the "Jesusland" portion of Cali. The rest of the state probably laughs at them.

All someone has to do is bring up the First Amendment and this will be thrown out. It worked for repealing Prop 8.

3/21/2016 9:03:59 AM

Talk about a waste of money. They're going to lose.

3/21/2016 10:43:00 AM

And Jerry seems to have missed Matthew 6:5. Then again he missed the Old Testament, he thought it was the Qu'aran. And he has also shown no knowledge of the Constitution. And he refers to judge as satanic. Unless the judge is a satanist, he is lying or has no knowledge of other belief systems and speaks from ignorance. Either way he has no argument but if he's lying he'll burn with all the unbelievers and hated by Jesus.

3/21/2016 12:55:05 PM

How does banning government proselytizing turn the First Amendment upside down? If they were proselytizing for the Talmud or the Quran or even the Catholic Church, would Klingenschmitt be OK with that?

3/21/2016 1:31:00 PM

Old Viking

Praise God! Mumble some perfunctory and boring prayers before a public meeting of the school board.

3/21/2016 1:39:37 PM

You do know that the first amendment has more then one clause, right?

3/21/2016 1:56:59 PM

@Prager, Thinking Allowed, freako104

For someone who supports the so-called 'Constitution Party'...:

...Jerry - as most probably they - doesn't know anything about his own Constitution.

Or he (and they) would know about the Establishment Clause. Otherwise, what was the fucking point of the War of Independence against the forces of King George III: head of the Protestant Church of England, which use Jerry's 'Christian Bible', the KJV, when they want a state religion today: Protestant Christianity based on the KJV?

Thus negating the need for a Constitution, therefore no USA, as it would be part of the British Empire (a la the scenario of the anime series "Code Geass"), ergo no Constitution in the first place.

Also, the fundies 'Teach The Controversy' BS, after the precedent-setting (and thus part of Constitutional law) Kitzmiller vs. Dover, which made teaching Cre(a)ti(o)nism illegal in all accredited educational systems in the US. The decision of a Conservative Christian judge - John E. Jones III - ensured that. Thus the fundies' impotent butthurt, especially as Judge Jones is a Christian himself - appointed to that Federal bench post by the Cre(a)ti(o)nism-believing George Dumbya Bush, in turn voted in (twice) by Cre(a)ti(o)nism-believing Conservative Christians - therefore the only ones ultimately responsible are themselves, and they have no right to blame anyone else, least of all Judge Jones. An 'Activist' Judge? WRONG!

This case above all else emphasised the mega-paradox 'Teach The Controversy' - and the whole Romans 13:1-7-based legal quagmire of their own making - represents for them. They say that if empirical secular peer reviewed science is taught in US schools etc, then why can't other 'theories': religious ones be included too? As they 'claim', the Constitution says they have that right. And now the kicker, folks:

In that case, the Christain fundies - especially Jerry - are forced to admit that L. Ron Hubbard is their - and his - 'Lord', and the Holy Writ of $cientology, the 'OT-III Incident Document' has equal credibility to their 'Christian Bible', the QJV.

As does Shinto doctrine: Amaterasu creating everything.

...otherwise, your particular religion has no right to exist: least of all in US politics. If, via Kitzmiller vs. Dover, it has no right to exist in all US schools, colleges & universities, due to a Federal law-based (and thus Constitutional law) court case, via the decision of a Conservative Christian judge who concluded that the defendants' case went against Separation of Church and State: as per the US Constitution, then I'm afraid that no amount of 'praying' can help you. As judges have to be proficient in Constitutional Law by definition, then - as proved by Judge John E. Jones III - even your 'Real Christians' in California are cursed: and there's less than fuck all your 'Lord' can do about it.

Your precious 'Constitution Party' - as are all non-Democrat/Repubican parties in the US - are up ordure creek without manual propulsion.

Unlike them, judges know about legal precedents. And the US Constitution.

Separation of Church and State. The Establishment Clause. The only thing protecting your - and everyone else's - relgion's right to exist in the US being the US Constitution; tax-exemptions of religions: even Islam & $cientology. So many 'Real Christians' in the US saying that theirs 'isn't a religion, but is "A Personal Relationship With Jesus"'. Romans 13:1-7, Jer...!

The little matter of the nearly $17 quadrillion owed in back-taxes by Christianity in the US since 1776; thus untold trillions owed by right-wing Fundamentalist Christainity. Give the IRS one good reason why thet shouldn't come a-calling to your church, should they - and all other fundie churches etc - start having ideas above their stations, and start influencing people outside the doors of said churches (and not even allowed in your own homes, fundies!), which is a political act? Just ask pastor James Manning, who owes creditors over $1 million, and could lose his church to an LGBT-based charity.

...who of course, as a non-profit organisation, are entitled to tax-exemption by the IRS, natch.

Nearly $17 quadrillion in tax owed by Christianity. Therefore the US government own your 'Lord', Jer.

Mark 12:17. Romans 13:1-7.

Just your thinking of saying what you do here on FSTDT is a political act, Jer. As is Proseltysing the way you do, o 'Real Christians'.

Let's bring in that Satanist bunch with the cool Baphometis statue! They're awesomesauce!

(I call zir, 'Baphometis', rather than 'Baphomet'. 'Baphe Metis' means 'Baptism of Wisdom')
