But I do think a lot of young white male Bernie supporters will vote Trump. It just probably won’t be enough.
If any Bernie Sanders supporters end up voting for Trump, then they weren't supporting Sanders for his platform and ideas, but only because of the hype.
Sanders kept up his campaign at the end not to win by some miracle, but to make sure his ideas got the widest possible attention. Good job of it too.
When his off-the-deep-end die-hard ultra-supporters refuse to accept defeat, want to disrupt the convention (which they didn't), and ignore the democratic process, they're certainly not doing so in Sander's interest. They're more like fundamentalist christians who put Jesus to shame and make him cry in heaven.
They're also like fans of some sports team who can't accept that the local rival won the game and blame the referee, the fans from the other team, the weather, the ball, the system, etc. and revert to hooligan style rioting. Totally childish.
Hype usually wears off rather quickly and the left-overs from the ultra-Berners will only be a small group. If those people want to vote for Trump, they should. He's their man and was from the beginning.
The people who supported Sanders for his ideas are concentrating on the senate and house elections.
