There seem to be a lot of people passionately invested in the idea of two wrongs making a right. They don't. If you go down this road and get arrested for being violent or if some Trump fan gets you fired from your job because he tells your employer that you're a commie (whether or not it's true), don't expect any sympathy.
We have the voting machine, we have the right to speak and protest, we have the right to lobby and we have the right to sue. We have the First Amendment. That's not "defending our butchers," that's behaving as if we lived in a democracy. It's not being neutral, it's acting to protect the freedoms we all enjoy by condemning the actions aimed at destroying the system, whoever does them. We're not letting the side down; I'm a liberal (in the American sense), and, if you defend regimes, however progressive, that attack, fire, arrest and murder liberals, then we are not on the same side.
If you can't handle political debate with the rights you already have, as far as I'm concerned, that puts you in the same camp as the alt-right. OK, there's a small difference; by and large, they find it intolerable that there are people in society who don't look like them; you, on the other hand, find it intolerable that there are people in society who don't think like you. Trump wants the media that disagrees with him silenced and those who complain about him jailed. I don't see how you're any different.

Geloof je werkelijk dat er gebeuren in andere landen nauwelijks geen discriminatie, geen racisrische of anti-homo aanvallen? Er staat geen alt-right in Nederland? Werkelijk? Wie dan is Geert Wilders? Wat is de PVV voor een beweging? En een alt-right bestaat nauwelijks in andere landen? Heb je nooit gehoord van het FN, van de UKIP, van het Vlaams Belang, van de AfD, van de MS-Fiamma Tricolore enz.?
