It's practitioners are saying that not only will you go to hell but that you DESERVE hell... Not really. It is more that you desire hell and God, being obliging, lets you have your way. Basically, if you choose to have a life apart from God, then He doesn't compel you have one. Granted, life apart from God is bad, but can you blame God for people actively choosing with full knowledge of the intellect the wrong thing? That would be like saying doctors are to blame for people who refuse treatment and die. Sure, they may have lived if they went with the doctor, but they are to blame if their denial of the good causes them suffering.
