"For objective morality to exist, a God is not necessary." No, not really. Aristotle argues it quite well as does Plato. We know that humans all desire happiness and that happiness is found in the good. From there, we can deduce things that are good. That is why there is a tradition in Christian moral theology of the Natural Virtues: Prudence, Patience, Temperance, Justice, and Fortitude. The ability of reason to apprehend what is good and act on it is reflected in Dante's Divine Comedy. Virgil, personifying the limits of human reason, can only guide Dante through Hell and Purgatory. It take theological virtues, specifically Faith informing Reason, to be able to apprehend heaven at all. Take a look at pagan conceptions of the afterlife. Not very joyous places. Elysium is pretty cool but the best they can come up with is that you don't have to work anymore.

What I was suggesting is that you approached the conversation with a complete disregard for the actual position held and created a hilarious straw man.
