Quote# 127281

As someone who is legitimately a Christian, you are also a new creature. The things of the world you once enjoyed should no longer be pleasurable to you. If you drank liquor, the Spirit of God should convict you of that. If you were one who spent time in dance clubs, and you are saved, the Spirit should have shown you that modern dancing is a sin! Likewise, when you were saved, the Spirit of God should show you that immodest apparel is a sin also. As a new creature, you have the individual soul liberty to do what you want to do, but what you want to do should reflect becoming a new creature through salvation.

So what should a modest lady avoid? Over the years, styles of dress have changed. Sadly, the styles of dress have become more revealing to the point where many women, whose character is far from harlotry, are dressed in ways which could easily cause a man to stumble into sin. Hollywood, the popular music culture and the fashion industry all encourage you to show off your body, but a Christian lady should know that her body is not her own.

1Cor 6:19-20 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

As a Christian, you have been purchased already. Paul referred to himself as a servant. Literally, a bond-slave belonging to Christ. Therefore, since we are not our own, we belong to Christ and we should do the will of Christ. For a lady, dressing modestly is the will of Christ.

How does Bro. Randy dress? I hope he doesn't dress in a way that would cause Christian ladies to stumble into sin.

This aspect of faith by salvation alone makes no sense to me. So apparently nothing you do stops you from being saved but once you are saved you lose all interest in doing pretty much anything?

You make christianity sound so...so unappealing. Am I understanding this right? You are supposed to be a spokesman for the religion, right? Well I have to tell you, you've turned it into a terrific turn-off. I think the church should look elsewhere for a PR man.

As terran I`m a free sentient, nobody`s slave, will of your gods have not bearing on me.

Confirmation that the greatest fear a fundie has is that someone, somewhere, is enjoying themselves.

Also, Corinthians was written by Paul, not Jesus or one of the apostles. Paul was not Jesus, he was just egotistical enough to think he spoke for Jesus, and a good enough con artist to convince others of it.

So...it's our (meaning women) fault that Randy can't control himself.

modern dancing is a sin!

Is the Minuet OK?

Paul referred to himself as a servant.

So that includes everybody? Fuck a bunch of Paul!

People like this are why I converted to the Catholic church when I became a Christian. They didn't bring up any of this kind of shit. Maybe you'd get more converts if you followed suit, Randy? Just a thought.

Where do you go to become legitimately a Christian? Who decides that?

Your family, friends, children, your house and your job, your sports and crafts, should not be pleasurable anymore? Now I want to be a Christian even less than I did before. Sure, Jesus does tell people that they have to leave their family to come and join him...

So, everyone ought to dress like this?

You have the individual soul liberty to do what God wants you to do?

What about what a modest gentleman should avoid?
How should they dress to not cause women to stumble into sin?

Modestly? Like this?

I think I'll pass, thank you all the same.

"If you drank liquor, the Spirit of God should convict you of that"

Replace one type of spirit with another. Got it.

"cause a man to stumble into sin"

'MEN's sexual feelings and behavior is WOMEN's responsibility' rears its ugly head again.

Once again, here's proof that fundies = fun dies. At least that's one thing I didn't mind about being Catholic - the more liberal attitude toward alcohol, dancing, and women's dress.

Christians are slaves to Christ? I thought they were the Bride of Christ (or was it the Body of Christ)? So Christ bought some slaves using his blood and then marries them collectively, including the men? Christianity is more fucked up the more you think about it. How is the marriage supposed to be consummated? Then again, Christians are also referred to as sheep, which are stripped of their fur, killed and eaten and occassionaly fucked, so I'm not surprised if this happens to Christians when they go to Heaven.

This is one of the reasons I left Christianity.

@Dernizen

It's a mess. They're owned by God because He made everyone/everything, the church is the bride of Christ (so we all are the Bride.)and Jesus ransomed us from Sin/the Devil so you better be grateful. It's basically Happiness in Slavery. Theology is weird.

Oh wow, I thought we'd seen the last of this guy a couple of years ago. Looks like his misogynistic "blame women for men like me not being able to control their urges like civilised adults" rhetoric hasn't changed one bit.
