Quote# 128278

[while debating on the concept of Hell, a commenter argued that Denny lacked empathy since he was fine with people suffering in Hell]

Denny: Really? So the only people who are full of empathy are people who are depressed or anxious? Christians should be writhing in agony because of God's justice? Quite the contrary, I would not want a God who did not punish sin. If Hitler and Stalin are not in hell, I think God is very bad.

A man who pretends to be a woman is not exactly in a position to judge others. You have some serious issues of your own.

Joslyn Renfrey: You think little non-christian children deserve to go to hell, including all the little jewish children that hitler gassed: to the same hellfire they go.
My issues are laughably tame compared to yours - you see, at least I'm not a sociopath.

Denny: So a "sociopath" is anyone who doesn't share your obsessions? Fella, you need strong medications and years of therapy.

Given that Hitler did nothing that Yahweh also didn't do, he might not be the best example of why hell is necessary.

"Denny: So a "sociopath" is anyone who doesn't share your obsessions? Fella, you need strong medications and years of therapy."

Fella, you need a dictionary for looking up sociopath.

Answer the question, Denny: do you believe the above statement? Yes or no answers only, please; no waffling.

Churchy,

Read the comment thread. He believes that everyone deserves it, and it is only mercy that allows a few to escape hell. That's pretty standard fundamentalist belief, actually.

Try telling the relatives of those who died in the Grenfell Tower tragedy that a 'Hell' exists.

Also, those who survived Napalm attacks in Vietnam: and those in Hiroshima & Nagasaki.

You need to be in a nut farm, Dumby.

No you saying people deserve to suffer does make you sociopath

Actually, what does make you a sociopath is saying that people deserve to suffer regardless of what they did, simply because they're different than you.

Seriously, as much as I like justice, I like happiness more. Meaning I'd rather see a bad guy walk free than see a good guy get punished. And that's the problem with your hell. Everybody gets thrown in there, not just the bad guys, but the good people as well. I'd rather have a god that rewards all people than a god who punishes all people.

Plus there's the whole thing of "punishment in proportion to the crime". I don't think any mortal can logically cause so much suffering they have to be tortured for a literal eternity. Certainly not anybody less evil than Hitler and Stalin.

"Everyone, from the most brutal genocidal warmonger to the most virtuous and selfless hero, are equally evil and will all suffer exactly the same punishment. However, by writing up for my group, you will get spared, no matter how horrible a person you were, and will even get an (equally one-size-fit-all) reward!"

If this sounds like justice to you, there is something fundamentally wrong with you.

The whole comment section is one long show in which Danny and the author shoot themselves in the foot over & over until they have nothing left below the ankle. And then try to run a victory lap.
