In a very narrow sense, the wage gap is almost closed - but only for white women, and only when comparing jobs at the exact same economic strata. But when it comes to hiring practices, promotions, and the fact that men don't get paternity leave still (in some countries), there's still a major gap in long-term earning potential. Yes, yes, women's choices, the fact that women usually get crappier choices isn't relevant because reasons, blah blah blah.

Guy's an immature asshole, but he's pretty much right. The "wage gap" is pretty much completely made up, at least for developed countries. While there still are differences between earnings, it's in the level of few percent, and pretty much completely caused by the fact that men dominate the best paid jobs, are more likely to ask for/get a raise, more willing to work dangerous jobs and generally expected to make more money than their partners and be a breadwinner for their famillies.
Also, among young people in many developed countries, it's actually being reversed with women making more money as a whole. Also, I remember reading a few studies which showed that childless women outearn men well into their 40s.
So, yeah, there are definitely group differences between earnings, but it's much more complicated than "MALE PIGS DON'T WANT TO GIVE ME MONNIEZ!!!", which, unfortunately, seems to be the default attitude of too many feminists when this issue is brought up.
