Quote# 131195

Those who have been impacted by Hurricane Harvey in Texas and Louisiana are only beginning to see the way the flood waters have destroyed their homes. Many families tried to ride it out, only to be rescued when the rising waters forced them onto their roof. Thousands escaped with only their lives and the clothes on their backs, losing everything they own.

But according to Secretary of State Rolando Pablos (R-TX), they don’t need any help. As Patheos reported, they just need a little more Jesus.

Quebec’s Minister of International Relations Christine St-Pierre called Pablos to express her sorrow and condolences on behalf of the people of the Canadian province. She also offered equipment and manpower.

Pablos turned it down. Instead he asked for “prayers from the people of Quebec,” the minister relayed.

Understandably, the neighbor to the north was shocked.

“It was a conversation about how devastating the situation is and we want to express our support to the people of Texas,” she told CBC News in an interview.

Jesus used his powers to actively help those in need. I doubt he would be very proud of you...

God is answering your prayers with that Canadian aid.

They don’t need any help. ... they just need a little more Jesus.

Yup, and 45 is following suit. Instead of pushing congress to hurry up with a relief bill*, he's delcared Saturday, Sept. 2nd a national prayer day for the victims. What a shame Jesus won't be able to hear the prayers. He's busy on a boat helping the victims.

*The Republicans in Congress need more time to juggle the bill in a way to make sure only rich white people get help while poor whites, all Hispanics, and all blacks are left with nothing.

Why am I not surprised?

But flood victims should be fucking outraged. In the midst of their need, let us hope they not only take note of what an elected official did during a crisis but KEEP that note for the next area election where all of them who can - and not just a bare half, FFS - will show up to vote.

This sort of idiocy should be grounds for immediate removal from office.

We can't have our neighbor to the north polluting the hearts and minds of Texans with unfiltered and unbiased stories of their Commie Canadian Health Act.

How to feel like you're doing something without actually doing anything. Isn't prayer great? [/s]

A boat carrying a news reporter saved a woman in Texas.

Therefore God loves CNN: as that's the news organisation the reporter works for.

Enjoy your paradox, Roloverandie Pubeloss.

Um...I don't think that's quite how it works.

This should be all the reason they need to kick her out. Now watch the dumb bastards in the Texas senate put her right back in come the next election, and the people put them back in.

I'm sure manna will just rain down upon the victims of this shit show, taking care of all their needs. Fuck Xtianinty.

I think most of us already know the joke of a drowning man refusing help from a boat, helicopter, and waterplane to instead pray for God to rescue him.

Call the mayor of Houston; he'll be glad of the aid. As for Mr Pablos, most of the victims already have Jesus, what now?

9/2/2017 2:30:23 AM

Interestingly I ran across an opinion column about Harvey victims receiving less aid from international sources than Katrina.

I wonder if they factored this bullshit into the mix when they started with their indignant accusations?

Really, he doesn't need his Government paycheck and benefits, just send him your prayers. Get a petition up and demand this every time a politician drags up this ridiculous notion, you see immediate apologies for it if it threatens his income in the least.

This is Texas we're talking about. Why would anyone, anywhere, expect a different outcome?

Any other country offering any assistance to TX is pointless, since this is what they do. However, this would be a great time for all those tough, rugged Texans to finally prove just how tough they really are- by finally seceding, like they've been bleating about for the past century. Pull yourselves up by your bootstraps, Texas, & stop relying on the big, bad government to save you. That's what pansy-ass liberals do, like those Hillary Clinton/Obama voters in NJ. After all, who's to know whether those fruity French Canadians, with their weird accents & functional atheist government, won't try to steal your remaining guns & turn you all into Marxists!

We wish we had an Atheist Government, It's Catholic to the core, moderate usually but less then a year ago the Harper adm was trying it's best to turn us into the southern states.

We hear the other side of the story. According to Pablo's yes he turned it down but he did so because it wasn't his job to accept the donations and did tell them where to go to help. In addition to asking for prayer.

Perhaps, but it's still light years ahead of ours.

Just be grateful that enough of you had the sense to vote Harper out, & you have a lot of work to undo before you sink to our level. The US is now the stupidest country on earth, & it's embarrassing to be trapped in this zoo. It's like being back in high school only there's no hope of graduating.
