Quote# 131517

It only comes as a surprise to liberals.

Trump may not be a buttoned-down evangelical but he respects people of faith.

The problem is people on the other side don’t respect the sincerely held beliefs of religious people.

Refusing to bake a wedding cake for gays isn’t bigotry.

Happy Atheist

I don't respect sincerely held beliefs that you should discriminate against folks for no good reason beyond 'sincerely held beliefs'.

"Refusing to bake a wedding cake for gays isn’t bigotry"

What about refusing to bake a wedding cake for

- Christians

- scientists

- couples where one is old enough to be the other's parent

would any of those be bigotry?

And you & all your ilk are his Mutawwa.

Did you know that Saudi Arabia executes homosexuals?

Unless you vehemently disagree, and are all for LGBT rights, congratulations: you're a terrorist.

...but then, we already knew that. [/Charlottesville]

<**thumbing through bible**> Here it is! "Thou shalt not give respect to people who are different from you, and thou shall doxx them big-time just to be gratuitously nasty". It doesn't say anything about "Thou shall go whining to a higher court when people call you out for your nastiness".

Trump respects people who can help him make money, and has no trouble abandoning them after they can't or won't help him anymore. He respects people of faith as long as they vote for him.

Cool, so it's ok with goldstateop if I refuse to bake a wedding cake for Christians.

Yes it is.

Yep, he respects you... while he's pulling your wallet out of your pocket with his other hand.

Um, no he does not. A fucking record-breaking hurricane smacks the shit out of an entire state - a conservative state, as far as I know - and the first words out of that Orange Plague's mouth are that this is all the more reason for tax reform.

And Irma is not done by half yet.

Ever consider God sent Trump to punish the world for all the blind, witless cruelty we, as a species, permit?

So people can refuse to bake a cake for a Christians and it won't be bigotry or are you a hypocrite? Because Jesus speaks against hypocrites so you don't want to be correct? And what about beliefs of non Christians? And Trump doesn't give a shit about people of faith.

Trump is obviously an atheist he takes no steps to even really hide it. I don't think he has ever even stepped foot in a church in his life.

I'm sure that he has the utmost disdain for the religious and sees them as just a bunch of poor rubes to fleece.

"Religion is viewed as truth by the foolish man, as foolish by the wise man and as useful by the ambitious man"

Trump does not respect any one.

Trump doesn't respect you. You worship him, you kiss his pudgy ass so he doesn't have a any reason to diss you, he's in it for the worship. You're those "I love low information voters"

Some Christian Anon

Wasn't there a whole additional bit to that story? You know, the baker releasing the gay couple's private information and encouraging harassment?

Trump only cares for himself. He doesn't respect anyone or anything, except his own orange self.

Do you respect the serious non-belief held by non-religious people, dearie?

Yes, it is; that's pretty much the definition of bigotry.

Do they also refuse to bake a wedding cake for divorced people? That's something that Jesus actually spoke against, according to the Bible. Jesus doesn't say one iota about gays in the Bible.

Doubting Thomas

The only thing Trump respects is money.

If you bake wedding cakes for the public at large, but you refuse to bake a wedding cake for a same-sex marriage, you're discriminating. That's bigotry.

He did during his campaign. One of his advisors told him he should or he may have trouble with the evangelical vote. By doing so, he gave them the cover they needed to vote for a man who is as far away from a follower of Jesus as you can get.
