Marx and Engels fought utopian and idealistic versions of socialism

Marx and Engels fought to establish their theories from the laws of dialectical and historical materialism. They analysed the history of class society from its inception through to the revolutionary upheavals of mid-nineteenth century Europe and wrote the Communist Manifesto in opposition to various types of utopian and idealist “socialism”. They also wrote at length to refute the influential, but unscientific, views of Duhring and Proudhon.

The ideological struggles led by Marx and Engels resulted, as Lenin noted, in the defeat of “pre-Marxist socialism”.  From that point on, bourgeois efforts to turn the workers from revolution and proletarian dictatorship could no longer stand “on its own independent ground, but on the general ground of Marxism, as revisionism” (Lenin On Marxism and Revisionism).

The fact that anyone is buying into Marx's unreadably boring and throughoutly falsified ramblings is even more baffling in light of the incomparibly saner Utopian Socialists.

Falsified, maybe. Unreadable? Not really; it's just kind of dry.

Insult to Rocks

Any respectable historian, or even just a student of history such as myself, would tell you that the class based view of history practiced by Marx and his followers is overly simplistic at best and utterly unrealistic at worst.

Social Democracy.

A certain Dead Woman Walking. While Jeremy Corbyn walks on water.

Someone buried at Highgate Cemetery here in Britain:

I'd like to welcome the Aussie bastard to God's own earth, and I'd like to remind him that we don't like stuck-up sticky-beaks here! [/Doug Piranha-levels of sarcasm]

Howls of derisive laughter, Karl!

Yossarian Lives

I'm pleased we have the hardened defenders of those who killed peasants by the millions and exploited the workers to further their own power to protect us from the bourgeois.

Ah, Marx and Engels. The bum and the guy who's couch he was sleeping on that developed a theory of economics that devalued or ignored a portion of the economy.

I get the feeling you have little experience with their actual philosophy or the economic issues that their views create once implemented.

Personally, I'd say the utopian ideals of various systems are something to strive for if that's your preferred course. And to call Marxism anything but unrealistic... who's the idealist again?

Go ahead with your goals. Just don't claim that yours are the only ones in your branch that are grounded in reality. People that say that are usually wrong.
