Quote# 138772

My question is—If men evolved from apes, then why are there still apes? The folks at Animal Planet continually make reference to humans as "animals." We are not animals. God created animals as animals, and men as men. 1st Corinthians 15:39 declares, "All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds." You see, the Bible makes perfect sense. Evolution is retarded.

Interestingly, there is absolutely no record of any civilization prior to about 4000 B.C., which perfectly corresponds with the Biblical time of creation. If, as evolutionists claim, mankind has evolved over millions and billions of years, then wouldn't it make perfect sense to expect history to go back hundreds-of-thousands of years at least? But, there was no world power before the Egyptian empire mentioned in the book of Genesis. Secular history confirms this.

Do you mean to tell me that it took mankind millions of years to discover vitamins? It was just a couple centuries ago that millions of people were dying from easily preventable diseases (such as scurvy, caused by a lack of vitamin C). Do you mean to tell me that it took mankind millions of years to discover paper and ink? Do you mean to tell me that it took mankind millions of years to discover toilet paper, first sold in the U.S. in 1857? Do you mean to tell me that mankind didn't realize the dangers of NOT washing his hands for millions of years? If you accept the Biblical date of creation (which history supports), then man's educational development makes good sense (i.e., we can trace man's inventions and advancements from 4,000 BC). Please keep in mind that people in 2500 B.C. were writing on rocks.

This is clearly seen in Egyptian and Babylonian hieroglyphics. So do you mean to tell me that for MILLIONS of years, mankind wrote on stones because he was too dumb to figure it out? Don't tell me that mankind has existed for millions of years, but there's no proof of it. The Bible speaks plainly and boldly, with no stone left unturned. In sharp contrast, evolution is a nightmare of missing links, bizarre speculation, and unscientific theories.

"Why are there still apes", the oldest stupid question of all in the creationist lexicon. I'm sure you've asked it before, and I'm sure it's been answered. But since you've decided not to understand, there is no hope for you.

Oh, and it's hard to devote a lot of time toward scientific research when it's all you can do to survive in a wild world. Nobody needed pen and ink when they hadn't developed writing yet ...but they had art, beautiful and realistic art. Visit Lascaux or Altamira.

Explaining bacteria to someone who has never had a microscope is a lot like explaining evolution to a creationist.

Groan!

We are not animals.

Look at an ape - it is self-evidently our kin,

All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one kind of flesh of men, another flesh of beasts, another of fishes, and another of birds.

So birds and fish are not animals, either?

Interestingly, there is absolutely no record of any civilization prior to about 4000 B.C., which perfectly corresponds with the Biblical time of creation. Why is it so hard to believe it took us that long to adopt new knowledge? You still can't understand theories of evolutipn after all this time.

If men came from dirt, why is there still dirt? If women came from men, why are there still men?

I'm starting to think that DJS may be a Poe because nobody can be this stupid. People in Egypt in 2500 BCE were writing on papyrus. Stone writing was mostly for decoration. Technological really started to accelerate during the Enlightenment when people began abandoning God and the Bible as the source of all wisdom and Gutenberg's press allowed for the wider spread of information.

China and India were both more technologically advanced than Europe until internal war and Islam took its toll.

Civilization kind of didn't exist in the Middle East from 5500BC to 4000BC, so for them, history began around that point. And prior to the development of cuneiform writing in 3100BC, there weren't a whole lot of records available to them. So by the time the earliest books of the Old Testament were being written, it would have seemed like history started at 3100BC, the previous 900 years were vague and mysterious, and before that, nothing.

This doesn't change the fact that civilization has existed somewhere, in some form, since roughly 10,000BC, it's just that in times and places where it collapsed, it usually took a very long time to recover.

...Primitive languages usually don't have a word for "animal". Instead they divide animals into a few very broad, unscientific categories. And of course humans are always in a category of their own. I would presume ancient Hebrew was like this.

David fails from first sentence. Broken clocks are right twice a day if inadvertently. David has never bee.

Alencon: he is. He legitimately was arrested for molesting girl under 13.

Do we have a total failure award? Because I think Davie just earned it with his statement about secular sources confirming there was no civilizations before 4,000 years ago. Has he never heard of the Sumarians?

Because some of the apes molested juvenile apes, and as a result never evolved.

What, you don't expect a serious answer do you.

@Alencon:

Davey-boy molested his then-underage daughter. His wife divorced him due to this. He's exiled to Guam as part of his punishment. (I'm assuming the actual punishment is indefinite or very-long-term probation, but I don't know the details.) But guess who's fault it is? According to him, it's his wife's fault for betraying him. And by "betraying him" he means "not sticking with him and forgiving him no matter what he does". There's evidence in his own writings that their relationship became troubled soon after the marriage, and he "fixed" it by shutting her up and making her pretend everything was fine, and he thoroughly believed that this meant everything really was fine and she was his "best friend". And then after the divorce she was a lying traitor who was never really his friend. Meanwhile, his desire to molest young girls is the fault of society for training them to be whores, and he shouldn't be punished for it.

...This is the kind of idiocy we're dealing with, on top of the religious fundie beliefs.

My question is: If a man was convicted of a heinous criminal act...:

...why is he still hypocritical?

Oh, and something clearly shown in this pic from an edition of the survivalist series by Bear Grylls, when he was in Sierra Nevada:

When he demonstrated that cave painting is the earliest example of artistic expression by humans, using a piece of charcoal from the fire he'd made. He explained that the earliest examples were 40,000 years old: proven by dating techniques.

Bear Grylls is a Christian. Also, Chief Scout and a former reservist in the SAS.

Say to his face he's wrong Davey-boy.

(*Crickets chirp*)

...thought not.

So, on top of the idiocy, decades-outdated creationist "Arguments", and straight up ignoring of ancient cultures, now Davey has stooped to a Middle-Schooler's level of insults? Calling Evolution "Retarded", I think that's a new one for him. Congrats, Dave, you just sunk even lower than before.

Do you mean to tell me that Antarctica, the continent around the southernmost part of the world, the South Pole, is a place where it can get into the triple digits below zero Fahrenheit? What a bizarre speculation, what an unscientific theory!!!"

It's no good David J Stewart accepting records of human civilization going back to 4000 BC, because given his strict young/earth creationist dating, there can have been no such records any earlier than 2348 BC, the date of Noah's Flood, according to Answers in Genesis. As it ended there was only one human family in existence, all speaking the same language and with the same ethnic characteristics. Hard to explain how our race manages to spread into so many places so quickly thereafter … oh except we've got the Tower of Babel in 2246 BC, after which humans are scattered across the globe, speaking Chinese, Sanskrit, Swahili etc. Just like that.

@Alencon, Zinnia:
Actually, the Stewarts were living on Guam when DJS molested a girl (I don't know whether that girl was his daughter, although it seems very likely he molested her, too), and part of his punishment was that he lost his passport so he can't leave the island.
