Bob Johnson:
So, should Disneyland be closed on the Sabbath? Should the NFL be forbidden to play on Sunday? Shall the US return to all the Blue Laws that have been repealed? Which of God’s laws does a judge enforce?

Susan Perelka:
The sabbath rest is now in Jesus, the first was just a foreshadow of the real One to come. Read the book of Romans and Hebrews. We are under a New Covenant.

Bob Johnson:
So it would appear by your reasoning that the “sabbath rest is now in Jesus” began with the New Covenant. That this New Covenant did not really begin until the repeal of the Blue Laws in 1961, before that the multitude did not understand Jesus’ message.
So much for the 4th Commandment.

You don't even know when Sabbath is, nor do you know what it is for. Why are you pretending to be an expert on it? :)
When do you think the sabbath is, Bob?

Bob Johnson:
Friday sunset to Saturday sunset.

So why did you refer to it as Sunday in your other posts, Bob? Do you even know what you are talking about, or are you arguing for the sake of arguing?

Bob Johnson:
Susan is claiming that US judges should be following God’s Word but never force someone to believe against their will. She is also stating that we are now thanks to Jesus under a New Covenant. Many Christians accept that the Sabbath is now Sunday and American Blue Laws (which began being repealed in the 1960s) reflected this by requiring most businesses to be closed on Sundays. I asked the questions for Disneyland being closed on Saturday, the traditional Sabbath, and the NFL with all the associated vendors working on Sunday. So to get down to brass tacks, how should we understand the fourth commandment? And should we again reenact those blue laws to follow God’s Word?

You clearly didn't understand what Susan is saying. Try re-reading it carefully without making assumptions.
Show me where in the Bible it states that Sabbath got switched to Sunday, and where it says Christians must observe it. I'll wait.

Bob Johnson:
“Show me where in the Bible it states that Sabbath got switched to Sunday, and where it says Christians must observe it.”
The second part is easy, look to the Ten Commandments. Commandment Four states in Exodus 20:8-11,
“Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
So if as Susan was saying, that the US should follow God’s law would that not start with the Ten Commandments? If not, which of the other Ten Commandments may Christians simply ignore?
Sunday - I agree with you the Bible does not state that the Sabbath was switched to Sunday, but then we must look to Christian tradition, why is worship services on Sunday? Why is it called Sunday School? And for all those American blue laws, why were stores and restaurants closed on Sunday?

Hi Bob,
The portion of Scripture you quoted is from the Old Covenant and in no way suggests sabbath was moved to Sunday. In fact, it proves otherwise. :) Here's a tip for you: try actually reading the Bible before telling us what it says. Copying from atheist sites will only make you look bad. They always get it wrong. :)
It also is from the commandments that were given to the Israelites. The Bible always specifies when God is talking to all mankind or when He is talking to Israel specifically.
As far as why Christians meet on Sundays and have Sunday school, well, that has nothing to do with sabbath. Paul instructed Christians to meet the first day of the week in order to make a collection for the poor, and that habit stuck. (Sunday is the first day of the week.)
If there's anything else I can clear up for you, just let me know.
