Yes, and with this attitude you are making sure there will be other children hurt and other victims of this kind of abuse, because the people with pedophilic attraction are shunned, told to die and then they’ll be afraid to seek the professional help they need. You must be proud of yourself.

Lastly I should note that when I considered myself a pedophile, I meant that I had fantasies of raping children. No more no less. I didn't watch child porn nor had sex with a child.

I read anon's post as an admission that people would prefer to see me as dead than alive and considering I'm actually suicidal, well, you could imagine that I was really on the verge of killing myself. Even after discussing with my parents in hope of getting permission to kill myself (which I didn't get. I ended up talking to the suicide hotline instead) I couldn't quite get this scenario out of my head and discussed it on r/suicidewatch. However, even then I still was planning to collect some more apple seeds.

On a different note, I happen to share a interest in paraphilias and human sexuality with you and would be very happy to chat about it with you. I feel that we have much in common and that we would get along. Speaking as someone who has thoughts like yours, I can relate. It's horrible knowing that you have such thoughts and that people will think of you as a monster for merely having such thoughts.
I wish that Germany's model of doing things (referring to Project Dunkelfeld) was more common. In the UK, for example, there's not much help. VirPed is very good for such matters, though. Hopefully people will realise in the future that not all paedophiles are automatically offenders.

Telling someone to kill themselves is NOT okay. There is a difference between someone who admits they have paedo fantasies but controls themselves enough to not make them a reality in any way, and a child molester or consumer of child porn.

As a strong opponent of the death penalty in general I think of everyone who wishes death on people (and obviously means it) as suspicious. I also got flak in the past for believing that people with pedophilic thoughts should be helped by society (one of my cousins is a psychiatrist actually working with these people and they are often terribly burdened by their own fantasies and would like to get help if possible) instead of shuned. As long as these persons have themselves under control and stay away from child pornography and molestation we should help them along so they can deal with their urges without giving into them. We do the same for people with violent tendencies without anyone batting an eye (even though they could easily kill people if not helped), but people with pedophilic fantasies are somehow always "monsters" that "can't be redeemed" and shouldn't get help. That's bugging me immensely, nearly just as much as people who try to say that "love" between children and adults should be legal. And encouraging people to suicide is actually quite disgusting in itself. Isn't the fantasy of wanting to kill someone (so murder) bad in itself too if you think of fantasies as something that should be punishable? It's a very emotionally charged topic and very slippery at that so we have to be very careful argumenting about it. Being condescending to people who obviously wish for help is not the way to go anon.
