Let me tell you the reason I laugh at this!
I have a cousin. This cousin is a woman.
This woman was in an accident that left her mostly paralyzed for several months, face crushed, trach tube, shattered hip. Very bad. Several months bedridden, and physical therapy after.
She at one point, after all the surgeries, after all the therapy, having recovered and being able to walk well, got herself a boyfriend.
Boyfriend is a drug dealer, trying to get her to put everything in her name, apartment, car, whole kit and kaboodle. (She said no.)
He eventually gets pissed about something, and decides he's going to beat her into line.
Cut short, he ends up calling the cops. "My girlfriend is beating my ass, come make her stop!"
Yeah . . . try to buy her. I might even sell her to you! After she beats your ass and escapes, I'll split the money with her. Then we can do it again! Why? Because not many people I know are tougher than her.
Really, though, all the people who talk about the great benefits of anarcho-capitalism, as if they'll be the beneficiaries of such a system, have no idea that the only reason they are alive is because most of the rest of us don't want to face the consequences of violating the law. A lot more people are capable of immediate and great violence than these assholes understand, and they are a part of the reason our civilization exists and is as strong as it is.
