[Email sent to Rupa Huq MP, a Labour MP of South Asian origin, who supports a second referendum on Brexit]

I suggest you return to Bangladesh to ponder your life if you do not come to your senses over Brexit shortly.

You are a miserable, stinking, filthy EU whore, not to put too fine a point on it.

You should abandon your new referendum anti democratic rhetoric and either vote for the Government Deal or not obstruct a no deal exit.

In the latter scenario you would, of course, find yourself free to press for whatever you wanted. Otherwise you might potentially be killed in a civil war in which many would die. You - and your anti Brexit types - will be to blame should you persist.

Thank you.

new referendum anti democratic rhetoric

Isn't a referendum the epitome of democracy?

Otherwise you might potentially be killed in a civil war in which many would die. You - and your anti Brexit types - will be to blame should you persist.

And here it is, that democratic fiber! [/sarcasm]
Menacing violence on your opponents is quite literally the opposite of democracy. I know this will not happen, but should UK authorities crack down on crazies like that, I would chalk it up to anti-terrorism action and move on to more significant news.

You're better off staying in the Eurozone, especially as the global order is changing.

Dizzy Dream

I don't know what John is getting upset about. A second referendum is very unlikely now. Unless MPs vote for an extension to Article 50, we leave at the end of the month. There is no way we could squeeze a referendum in during that time.

It's also unlikely May's deal will go through, given she's just tried to get number of northern Labour MPs to pork-barrel. Most people don't approve of bribery so if anything she's made sure they won't vote.

Oh, and careful John... Given Corbyn got an egg smashed over his head at the Finnsbury Park Mosque this week, hard core Brexiteers seem to be proving their true colours.

The extent to which hard Brexiteers (here and in this letter sent to Heidi Allen) claim the mantle of democracy while trying to deny a voice to elected representatives whose constituents voted to remain is galling, if not surprising. The racism, misogyny and predictions of civil war are par for the course: this is Britain in 2019.
