I agree with Jo, they have human rights that are the same as anyone else. No one denies gay people anything unless it's marriage-related. It's understandable why gay people can't adopt, every child needs a mother and father if given the opportunity.. instead of having to be ridiculed by ignorant people all throughout their childhood for having gay parents. Gay people have more rights than my father does, he can't even vote all because of a non-violent felony from when he was younger. No one has tried telling gay people they can't vote... THEN our country would be denying them their human rights.

Well, are you hinting that just because your father is straight and gays are not they are denied the most basic rights?, do you think your father is superior to them?. Besides, you expect us to be sympathetic to your dad, what about being sympathetic to them who have done NOTHING?. Besides, I do understand what it means to be ridiculised by ignorant people(tell my children)but it´s those people fault, NOT GAY PEOPLE.

These people, like so many groups before them, are struggling for the same rights as everyone else because it's one of the basic principles of our nation that everyone is equal and everyone has the same rights. The only thing standing between them and the rights they deserve is the bigotry and hate that's been ingrained into society by people like you.

Hate to break this to you, but that's your dad's fault, not the gays. He made a mistake and he's dealing with the consequences. If a gay man broke the law in your state he'd be subjected to the same penalties as straight people.

Last time I had an argument on internet was on a gay guy's blog for the same reason as Chrissy.
Yeah, gay people have all the same rights as everyone else, except the ones that we don't want them to have because they're icky. Oh, and we like to harass them, and sometimes beat them to death. But at least they can vote, unlike Chrissy's daddy who broke the law . But it was just a non-violent felony, so that should be okay, right?
It seems to have become quite a common pattern for a lesbian couple to have a child with a gay man donating sperm, and the man then having involvement in the child's life, although the 2 women are the primary caregivers.
What your daddy did is irrelevent. He broke the law, this is part of the punishment. Sorry if you don't like that. So if you're daddy decides to poke his own eyes out, that doesn't mean that sighted people have more rights then him. HE did it to HIMSELF.
But, Chrissy, the right to marry and to adopt are basic human rights just like the right to vote in a democracy. Denying people who never committed a crime any of their human rights is wrong. You can't just pick and choose which human rights you're going to grant and which you're going to withhold.

Tell them that their adopted daughter needs a mother and a father, and thus she should be sent back to an orphanage in Cambodia where she will live in poverty and have neither.

Quite right. Gay people are not being denied any meaningful rights. They're even allowed to marry. Sure, they're not allowed to marry the person they love, but their allowed to marry someone of the opposite gender just like anyone else. Besides, they're allowed to vote between two candidates who oppose same-sex marriage! They have some nerve complaining that they're not allowed to marry some specific person they love when Christians are denied the right to vote simply because they believe the law doesn't apply to them and act accordingly! Gays should just enjoy the rights they have!

I had a pair of heterosexual parents - the perfect situation, according to this bitch. One dick, one vagina, both of them abusive and uncaring. Was that better than being raised by a homosexual couple who loved and valued me?

If you truly care about the children, let them have loving homes. Don't let them suffer through a nightmare like mine. Don't make them carry the physical and mental scars for the rest of their lives.
