Does the bible actually speak against abortion?
No, I don't think it does. If anything, it doesn't mind abortion:
Exodus 21.22If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow: he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine.
23And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life,
24Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,
25Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe.
This verse heavily implies that the woman is worth more than the embryo.
The commandment states "Though shalt not murder," not kill. And because the Bible mentions justified killing of some people it is clear that not all killing is murder. Also, because the Bible does not make any attempt to define murder as opposed to just plain killing, it is assumed to be state-sanctioned. Meaning, if the state does not call an act of killing murder, it isn't murder in the Bible either. Therefore, a first trimester abortion in the US (as an example) is not murder in the country or the Bible.
I sometimes wonder if, deep down, people who hold this sort of opinion are really profoundly jealous of women. I mean, they effectively 'create life' from their bodies, giving them godlike abilities, which must be terrifying for males of a primitive mind-set.
When you get right down to it (and please note I'm talking in purely reproductive terms here, like the original poster, not denigrating men and all they contribute to the species), we could easily do with just a few, carefully selected males to be used for *breeding purposes. Or do away with them altogether: artificial insemination is nothing new, but as far as I'm aware no-one has yet managed to create an artificial womb...
*I'm not up to speed with current research, but I vaguely remember talk of it eventually being possible to do away with the male cell completely, making it possible for two women to breed. Or did I dream that bit? The notion would certainly give this sort of fundie nightmares...
So tell me, why is the fetus more important than the woman?

If they do, they're stupid. Women can't create life by themselves. They need a man.
Hey Hector, if you you think a fetus is more important than a woman try getting a fetus to wash the shit stains out of your underpants for no money.
(5 points if you can name who it was who said that)
How is babby formed?
(Just surprised that oldie but goodie meme hasn't surfaced before now?! X3 )
You see, when a man is in a state known as "awake", he wants really badly to have at least one female pleasuring his cock. This is quite natural and not something to be ashamed of.
And when a man sees a female who is particularly attractive, every function of his brain shuts down except for the part that controls the cock, the heart, the lungs and the hands (known as the happyjoy system). Then, if the female is drunk enough, she'll let the man disappoint her. This is called "sex", and it is one of the most beautiful and natural things that money can buy.
And that's where abortions come from. Any questions?
If the woman dies, the fetus dies too, stupid.
The woman might have other kids, actual born kids, who need her. The fetus is just a potential life and as such, the woman's life is saved first.
Confused?
