actually ships like aircraft carriers are about the size of the ark. lotsa room. no windows so all the animals would hibernate.

If there were no windows, and the Ark was completely water-proof, where the hell did Noah and his family get clean water to drink? They couldn't store a forty day supply on the Ark itself or the thing would sink.
Aircraft carriers have ventilation and are made of steel. Big difference between a wooden boat with one window. Trust me, when the ventilation gets turned off, it's not fun. Except for the water fights....those are fun. But I doubt that's what they were doing on the ark.
-Not all animals hibernate.
-An aircraft carrier is WAY bigger than the ark.
-There's no way a 600 year old man could build that boat by himself before his body realized it was about 570 years past its lifespan.
-A boat the size of an aircraft carrier made of wood would not be able to take the strain of the ridiculous movement of the ocean that would occur if the world was flooded.
-8 people still can't deal with the literal tons of shit produced each day by the thousands of animals.
-The amount of space food and water would take, especially for inefficient eaters like elephants, would be many times bigger than the animals themselves and, without advanced preservation and refrigeration, would rot in less than a week, turning the ark into a massive disease-ridden ghost ship.
It's just not possible, and "God did it" is not an explanation.

A sea-worthy ship, the size of an aircraft carrier, made of wood ? By one guy, using non -power tools?
How about you stupid fundies prove it, by building one yourself, eh? And then find two of every animal to be put in there for an extended period of time. If one guy could do it with a saw and a hammer, it should be fairly simple, right?

Not all animals hibernate, fool. Also, how could the animals that require extremely cold weather to survive, and those that require extremely hot weather, could both be accommodated on the same wooden boat without proper air-conditioning?

your average aircraft carrier is about 1,092 ft long and 252 ft wide and 215 ft tall (240 ft tall from the top of the radar tower to the keel)..
the ark from the flood story was 450 ft long, 75 ft wide and 43 ft high. according to calculating cubits to feet.
now if you calculate in all the animals it would be imposable for it to work with just 450x75x43 feet..
and plus you have to have the the food and water too keep the animals and humans alive. it would make it even more imposable for it to work the Physics of keeping all those animals, food, water and humans in that small space will not work.
a great deal of animals can not go into hibernation or a state of Torpor. plus a great deal of animals would have not been able to make it that far due to some of there life spans and the rate of movement.
The terraforming/transforming (but actually 'Nouvlesse'-population transporting 'Ark') ship-cum-mecha Deucalion :

The Rochambeau
The largest wooden ship built to date. It sailed only once , to it's new owners. It never sailed again, due to it's unseaworthiness (and even then, it had metal hull supports, and pumps to expel leaking water.
I'd like to see brainless here build a replica of the 'Ark'; even that described in the Bible. Good luck with building the first ship-cum-submarine , pal [/smartarse]
I don't know about hibernate (and neither does he) but they'd have to calm the hell down, I guess, Bible's vauge on this but it is a big impossible boat after all.
I figured out the physics for you fundies. They were so calm they were able to stack them, like sardines, making the internal and external forces equal.
Wouldn't be surprised if the Hovinds use that one,one day I'm going to regret my forays into fundie fan-fiction.
And Noahs family could heat and cook on their methane fed barbeques, gas-lamps and fireplaces. You get used to the smell and aftertaste about the same time your seasickness wears off and you start walking bow legged.
That's why we still have bow legged people today, irrefutable that is. See creationists? I use evidence.
Then where'd all the poop go? After all, with no windows and only 1 door (which was sealed) I'd imagine that fecal matter would quickly become a problem, unless they kindly asked all the animals not to go poo. In which case, everything would DIE.
> Stupid, but not fundie without context. Moderate religious people say stuff like this.
There is nothing moderate about religious people who believe the story of Noah's ark.

"SO once the Ark settled on the ground, Noah catapult launched the animals off ?"
That made me almost laugh out loud; if I hadn't been at work, I would have...

Where do you think Grumman got the inspiration for their multi-role plane, the F-14 Tomcat ...?! [/aerospace nerd] [/surreal] [/smartarse] X3
@Iczer-four
A thought: the Wonderbolts, and their leader, Spitfire? After all, Supermarine Aviation brought out the carrier-based version of their fighter, the Seafire . Would Equestria's navy have steam catapult-launched pegasae...? [/smartarse II]
(*...thinks *):
As pegasae are from Cloudsdale: Spectrum's Cloudbase, in "Captain Scarlet". Also S.H.I.E.L.D.'s awesome Helicarrier in "The Avengers". The Wonderbolts in Angel Interceptors, and/or F-22 Raptors...?! [/'Fantasy Technology' nerd]
Yes, that's right; plenty of room in the hangar bays, whilst two of Noah's sons & one of their wives went out on missions searching for land in hypersonic F-37 Talon fighters, accompanied by the UCAV controlled by an AI which was God's consciousness uploaded into it's Quantum Processor, amirite?! Aircraft Carriers?

That one is over twice as long as the Ark was supposed to be, and carries 90 aircrafts.
So, did half the animals stay on the deck during the whole trip, while others were lowered with elevators to parking spaces below deck?
What about animals that live in the dark? They don't hibernate. It becomes pretty dark up here in Northern Europe in winter, but we still have animals that are active (although we humans would like to hibernate from Nov 15th through March 15...).
Confused?
