Quote# 22865

atheistic faith herein never told that there are credible scientists who harbor significant skepticism towards Darwinism and even doubt that Darwinism creates a reasonable foundation for atheism?

Can the so-called intellectuals not see the deadly poisonous viper in the grass, the lawn of knowledge? Science is an ever changing field of expertise. Scripture is NEVER CHANGING, yet much of what was once considered absurd in scripture, has since been proven scientifically factual.

once again, saying the exact opposite of what reality does...

Plenty of things were considered factual 2000 years ago, or even 200, in the bible, and have since been proven to be badly written thoughtless bullshit with an ever-obvious slant as to \"who benefits\" from those claims.

Things that NEVER CHANGE are likely to end up wrong once everything else around them does. Of course, scripture wasnt even right in the first place, and certainly hasnt improved since then.

Except perhaps in your own little deluded fantasy world.

Science changes as people learn things, and as new discoveries are made. That's generally a good thing. Scripture never changes because it sticks to the same old fantasy no matter what. And what has actually happened is that, as humans have learned more about their world, this fantasy has been proven to be more and more absurd.

So we've proven the earth is flat?

And GB again makes bizzare assertions.
But somehow he did it without making a single hatefull comment.

Sure, I have no problem with skepticism towards Darwinism. For all the evidence supporting it, there is always the possibility of a viable alternate explanation. I don't know of such an alternative right now, but that doesn't preclude the possibility of its existence. Where I have a problem is the refusal of people to consider the alternatives. If there were evidence for a God, then God would be a viable possibility. What we have is no evidence that strongly supports creation that does not support evolution. We also have a significant amount of evidence that goes against the idea that the planet was created in 7 days, 6000 years ago.

\"...there are credible scientists who harbor significant skepticism towards Darwinism...\"

I don't doubt that this is true, just not in the way that Glorybound thinks.

\"...and even doubt that Darwinism creates a reasonable foundation for atheism?\"

So? The theory of evolution takes no stance on religion.

\"Science is an ever changing field of expertise.\"

That's the point, as we learn more, we must change to accomidate the new information. Sometimes that is a little, and sometimes it is a whole paradigm shift.

\"Scripture is NEVER CHANGING, yet much of what was once considered absurd in scripture, has since been proven scientifically factual.\"

At best, this is a demonstration of massive ignorance of both scripture and science and at worst it is an outright lie. I'm leaning toward the latter.

Science changes. Scripture never does. So we agree, then?

Scripture never changes, and that is its biggest weakness...and nothing about it has been \"proven\", you liar.

4/3/2007 9:00:10 AM

Darwinism (sic) does not create a foundation for atheism. Atheism predates the theory of evolution.

Science does change as new and better evidence is obtained & understood. This is what science does, it is our method for survival. Please stop lying that it is a weakness not a strength.

Please cite scripture \"once considered absurd that has since been proven scientifically factual.\"

Life is change.

Scripture doesn't change.

Scripture is dead.

QED

The only scientifically factual information in scripture consists of those snippets of valid folk wisdom which made it into scripture in the first place, and then managed to survive translation.

Null argument.

Scripture is NEVER CHANGING

Except for the mistranslations of the Hebrew OT that made their way into the Septuagint.

And the Number of the Beast from 616 to 666.

And the selection of which books to include in the New Testament and which to exclude.

And ...

Well, that does it for me: insects have four legs (Leviticus 11:23) the world was created in seven literal days (Genesis 1) and the Sun stands still if somebody commands it (Joshua 10:12-13).

One other thing: if Scripture is unchangeable, how come the canon of the Old Testament wasn't set until about 200 years before Christ; and the New Testament canon wasn't set until the Nicene Council in 325 C.E.?

I second JP: The lawn of knowledge? Is that near the patio of intellectualism or the sidewalk of logic? And what about the pink flamingos of faith?

The reason why it's absurd is because it's not self-correcting. Pwnd

Scripture never changes. That´s why we still hold handmaids to bear children to barren couples, and consider the whale a fish, and eating lobster abomination, and live in tents in a dessert...........and for the record, did you know what self-correcting is, IN THE LIGHT OF EVIDENCE?

You know, science being ever-changing is not a bad thing, as long as you understand why it is like that. My mother doesn't get that either... I've tried to explain to her, but she's not inclined to listen to anything that disagrees with her.

Like what? The ancients weren't completely stupid, so of course things in the Bible conform to the known science of the day. But other than that?
