Sorry, Pokemon wasn't around 4,000 years ago, your God is going to have to come up with a better excuse for commanding all those genocides.
In a way, he's right. Pokemon is basically cockfighting, although in context, this guy's just full of hot air.
I always had a feeling that Pokemon and Harry Potter were behind this whole "evolutions" fad, but I never made the connection between them and childhood violence.
It makes sense when spelled out though.
You know, if I could go back, I would have a nice conversation with the game's designer and beg him...on my knees if I must...to use any...ANY other term than evolution. Because I am somwhere between sick and infuriated at the sheer number of MORONS who take Pokemon as the textbook definition of Evolutionary Theory.

I may absolutely hate the Pokemon anime (games for the win), but at least that pile of garbage tries to teach kids about the importance of friendship. On top of that, Ash and co. aren't trying to take over the world, they're just exploring, making friends and battling. They try to STOP the people taking over the world. Even the games put emphasis on that kind of thing.
Also, why the HELL did Game Freak choose the term "evolution"? Was it because "metamorphis" was too big for their intended audience or something?

There's an overall difference here too: No one tells anyone Pokeman is real or you have to live you live your life according to it's commands.

funnily enough, the message of the Pokemon anime seems to be about friendship and teamwork. And the only people trying to rule the earth are you know, the VILLAINS.

I thought the ones who wanted to use Pokemon to rule the world was Team Rocket/Galactic/Ghetsis and Neo-Team Plasma. You're right, it's the incompetent, immortal 10 year old with the Lv. 100 Pikachu who wants to rule the universe. Boy was i wrong.
