[Re: a couple posters stating that Christians shouldn't be bothered with conserving the environment...]

i agree, why bother? the bible doesn't say that global warming is going to destroy the planet or kill us all. We know the direction the world is taking and how everything is going to end. Also when a christian turns to helping the environment, they should make sure that the environment doesn't become their new religion. (hope i didn't offend anyone) Anyways churches and christians I THINK should be more concerned with helping people find jesus and following the bible then with "worldly concerns"

"It doesn't matter if half of Indonesia ends up underwater and those people die of starvation. They weren't Christians anyway."

This is why the planet is doomed. Natural selection isn't killing off these morons fast enough.

Not even helping people then? Yeah, fuck up the planet, let the people die of starvation and you... just... sit there. Brilliant!

And you don't just sit there? What do you do for the environment, recycle a plastic bottle or two? Not enough, nothing will be enough, except human extinction. Muhahahahahaah

"the bible doesn't say that global warming is going to destroy the planet or kill us all."

The bible doesn't say anything about the internet so stop posting there.

"the bible doesn't say that global warming is going to destroy the planet or kill us all."

It also doesn't say anything about a Rapture. So, following your logic...

You'll tell us the day you are starving because harvests fail or you're surrounded with floods and other problems, and you realise that God have better things to do than rapture idiots like you.

1. Jesus is a person's name (A lot of people, actually) and should be capitalized.

2. Next time your preacher sermonizes about stewardship, take your earplugs out.

Wait, according to the bible, humans were supposed to be the "stewards of the earth", so you're basically going against your very own bible. Bet that'll piss your god off, won't it?

the bible doesn't say that global warming is going to destroy the planet or kill us all.

Sure it does. If you cherry-pick the Bible and stretch its interpretation enough, the Bible can be made to say almost anything. In fact it already has. According to some "Rapture" loonies, global warming will be part of the "fourth plague" in Revelation: "And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory" (Rev. 16:9).

But, you see, "worldly concerns" represent reality, whereas people finding Jesus represents sheer delusion. Oh, never mind.
