Interracial* couples in the last decade? In what backwater area have you been living in the past 40+ years? My Tex/Mex Injun with a touch of European self disproves the 'decade' comment by at least an extra few decades.

(*Proper term is "inter-ethnic" because we are all one race, the human race. Racial terms were an artificial societal invention)

And if you don't want to tell your grandparents something, chances are they won't like it, not that you are doing something wrong.

Good God... like a bolt from the blue, the answer just came to me.

Fundies are always going on and on and on about how any kind of social progress will inevitably lead to legalised bestiality, like it's the most terrible thing they can imagine. What if there was a 'legalise bestiality' movement? The fundies would blow their top, throw all their energy behind opposing it, and when asked about gay rights or the teaching of evolution, would say; "Are you still going on about that? The new duty for Christians is to stop these chicken-humpers getting their way!"

If we can get the fundies to prioritize decoy movements, they won't waste their time with lesser abominations like improving society.

This is so true, if you feel shame for what you are doing, and it is soley your shame, then you have something to ask yourself about your lifestyle, but not if you only feel bad about what others might think of you for your lifestyle.
I make my non-religious views very plain to my mormon family, and they have no problem with it as long as I'm honest with myself.

I find it ironic that this quote has found it's way onto a "fundy" website, being that I am not even close to a religious fundamentalist. I also find it ironic that the person who put this quote on here is too afraid to let me know who it is, but instead goes through the trouble to create an entirely new facebook under an ex-girlfriend's name to send me the link. It sounds to me like another typical liberal puss. And for those of you who disagree with me, France would love to have you. This country was founded on certain moral standards, and I don't feel that I should have to compromise those morals for you people.

Grandparents' approval is NOT the litmus test for behaving properly. Grandparents can do dumb things and be unreasonably intolerant, too. My grandmother drove drunk and hated the Irish. Should we outlaw English American / Irish American marriages based on her opinion?

The US was not founded 'certain moral standards'. Inalienable rights applies to everyone, not just you and who you feel can join the country club.

And as an friendly FYI, FSTDT isn't a fundie site. It's a "You gotta be kidding, he/she can't be THAT stupid and ignorant" site. And in a way you are right. Your statement doesn't belong here. It belongs in "Racists say the darnedest things!"

Always with the bestiality...Christians are almost as obsessed with that as they are with homosexuality (but are surprisingly silent in comparison on the issue of pedophilia, but hey...can't disagree with everything, right?).

Anywho, let me just put this out there:
Interracial couples =/= bestiality
Gay couples =/= man on beast action

Both gay and interracial couples involve love between two human beings, who are consenting adults, doing things that harm no-one, is no-one's business, and that is it! If you are afraid to tell your grandparents about that love, it is probably because those grandparents have an archaic, bigotted mindset similar to your own, rather than the love being inherently wrong. But, you can continue to live in five decades in the past if it makes you happy.
