My favorite misuse of statistics in the whole world is that people who don't watch pornography are far more likely to commit violent crime than those who do. And while coming to the conclusion that porn prevents violence would be understandable - the most likely causation is actually the other way:
People who commit violent crime often have messed up sexuality. And since getting pleasure from watching naked men and women is normal ... you get the idea.
I don't actually think that porn is especially effective in reducing violence, but you can make a much better case for that than the other way.

I don't understand how prostitution, when undertaken by choice, could be taken as violence against women, and I am a woman. Partly because male prostitution does exist, and partly because I don't see the point. If a woman enjoys sex, wants to enjoy sex for money, and can handle herself, I don't understand why she should be forced away from that profession anymore than another woman should be forced into it.
Besides, I'm interested in kink, too, but I know the difference between a scene and real life.
