[First comment in response to a poll on the question "Should local governmental bodies be allowed to open their meetings with a prayer?"]
This should not even be a question . Allow the majority to rule once again as there is only one God and no other. It is time to take back prayer not only before Our council but in our schools. It is time to take action and get our prayers back regardless of the cost. The greatest cost comes latter when we don/t know him.If this offends anyone God hears your prayer there is only one.

*sigh* The rights of the people are not decided by a majority vote.
How much do you want to bet that Stanton would be completely against the 11 Satanic rules being posted in his child's class instead of the Ten Comandments?
Constitutional law, bitch. Specifically, Justice Brennan's concurrence in Abington School District v. Schempp.
You don't have to read all of it. Here, I'll even start you off.
"The State must be steadfastly neutral in all matters of faith, and neither favor nor inhibit religion. In my view, government cannot sponsor religious exercises in the public schools without jeopardizing that neutrality."
Or are you smarter than Justice Brennan? I doubt it. I don't know of many people who are.
I think government officials should be allowed to pray in their meetings, but independently. There should definitely be no state-led, group call to prayer that everyone is obligated to participate in.
And minority rights should never, ever be decided by a majority vote, because the majority, without fail, will always vote to oppress the minority.
I admit that I'm the one who stole all the prayers, and no I won't give them back. I'm hording them for a big favor from gawd, and as everyone knows, the school prayers are the best and most powerful kind. The church and home prayers are basically worthless--I can't give those away.
How do you know there is only one god?
If one must open up a meeting with prayer, why can't it be to the whole Asgard gang?
Ha! This is the poll that PZ's crew crashed! Look at the results. They are overwhelmingly in the favor of logic and Constitutionality, thanks to his intervention.
And this guy obviously doesn't realize that people are free to pray regardless of whether or not the state Senate begins each meeting with a group prayer session/endorsement of Christianity as religion of the state.
"Should local governmental bodies be allowed to open their meetings with a prayer?"
Yes, as long as it's a muslim prayer. After all there is only one god Allah.
"And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward."
Matthew 6:5
Pro tip: Read your holy book once in a while, and I mean ALL of it.
And if you go to certain districts in Harlem, where the vast majority is muslim, or to Queens, where the vast majority is Jewish, or to certain areas in Boston, where the vast majority is Catholic, or Hawai, where the vast majority is Buddhist, or to Las Vegas, where Mormons rule, are they allowed to pray whatever they like and force you to do it?
"This should not even be a question . Allow the majority to rule once again as there is only one God and no other."
But I thought that you fundies disliked "democracy..."
"It is time to take back prayer not only before Our council but in our schools. It is time to take action and get our prayers back regardless of the cost."
Fine, you take your stupid prayers back, and keep them the heck away from me!
"The greatest cost comes latter when we don/t know him.If this offends anyone God hears your prayer there is only one."
Incoherent rambling. Please try to improve your writing ability.
Hey, I've got no problem if they want to open a meeting with prayer.
as long as it's silent and to themselves, and they don't force to join them or be quiet. If it doesn't bother anyone they can do what they want.
I'm pretty sure your Jesus said something about, when you pray, you are to do it in private and not be like the hypocrites, who like to put on a public display.
Confused?
