The silliest thing of all is fundies getting angry because of lack of deference shown to our Christmas trees and Easter bunnies. Don't these morons realize that Christmas is just another pagan festival? If they REALLY wanted to celebrate the birth of Jesus, (1) they would be breaking with past tradition, none of his followers had any concept of celebrating a 'birthday', (2) they should celebrate in SPRING when he would have had to been born. Though I'm sure if I looked close I could find obvious contradictions just within the standard nativity story.

Puritan fundies forbid the celebration of Christmas because they knew it was just a pagan festival and an excuse to get drunk and be joyful or happy in other ways.

God I love it when you morons bring this up. When was the last time you ate shellfish, clams, oysters or shrimp? Off to hell with you then.

No. I think god is indifferent. Either that or he doesn't exist. At the very least he's not as described in your Holy Babble else they'd be a smoldering pile of ash on the first note as per the OT god's standard practice toward people he doesn't like.

"Step Into Christmas" is a damn good seasonal tune that I like to hear as Muzak in shops during that time, on the radio etc by Elton John. A guaranteed moneymaker too, re. royalties (CD sales, downloads etc, airplay, Muzak, pubs & clubs et al), especially for his own anti-AIDS charity. As the likes of Roy Wood ('Wizzard') and Noddy Holder ('Slade') will tell you, come up with an Xmas single that'll become a classic, and it's guaranteed money in the bank ('I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day' and 'Merry Xmas Everybody' respectively for Roy & Noddy, they can live very well the rest of the year just on the income from just those singles alone; those tunes have effectively become their pensions).

...still, I guess there's always 'Rock & Roll Christmas' for you to enjoy in particular eh, Davey-boy? By an artist who isn't homosexual, and therefore is just like you. His name?
