Really! Talk about strong delusion. To know you are battling Jesus Christ and God and still go out thinking you can defeat Him....this has to be delusion, insanity just doesn't work here, not strong enough.

“Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side, kid.”

To paraphrase Kirk, "What does God need with an army?"

We have the bomb. What does God have?

Can there be this much irony without making the universe implode?

Man that's good fundie.

Bah, just a couple of iron chariots and jeebuz and gawd will be toast, no need for anything fancy.

Why is this here? He's perfectly correct. If you're convinced that you're fighting fictional entities, then you're deluded. Sounds reasonable to me.

"this has to be delusion, insanity just doesn't work here, not strong enough." SAY WHA?!?

"How insane is that??"

Pretty insane... Unless you have iron chariots!

Dude, even the bible says a good wrestler can take your god down. I am not worried.

HypnoToad

I see that as midly heroic. You got this all-powerful, dark, otherworldly creature come into our universe with the intention of destroying it, and the last few humans made a valiant stand, regardless of the cost.

I'd love to make a rapture story that places god as the bad guy.

When I chop your gawd's head off with a sword, will you then admit you were wrong?

Torquemada

Clearly there are heretics we have missed.

We can forge some iron chariots; victory will swiftly follow, according to your Bible.

So, let me get this straight, God can't take on Iron Chariots with an army.

And you expect him to win a war? We have something called the gun now.

Jacob did it

Newsflash: I killed your god. He flew into my bug-zapper. A stinkin' mess, I tells ya!

You bet I'll turn my weapons on Jesus if your horrific and sadistic version of the universe turns out to be true.

If RPGs have taught me anything, it's that the power of the human spirit (usually in groups of 3-5) can overcome even the greatest of gods and demons, provided you have sufficiently leveled up and obtained decent equipment.

7/17/2008 3:25:19 PM

if God is all powerful, why has he needed armies of humans to kill his enemies for him ever since the dawn of history?

for that matter, why is God enemies with people he made?

also, im not too worried about our chances. i mean, some random dude kicked God's ass in a wrestling match, and God had to use magic to win.

Allegory for Jesus

Well, considering how poor Jesus/God's omnipotence and omniscience seem to be, and that Satan and demons can apparently act with near impunity on Earth, I think that it could actually be done. I think that you could actually successfully fight off God.

Of course, I only say that to entertain myself...the idea of a ragtag team of atheists and morally ambiguous demon creatures charging on an army of angels with Jesus at the forefront is just too awesome of a possibility to abandon...

The Second Rebellion has begun!!!

As one of the excellent songs in the otherwise execrable Shadow the Hedgehog put it, "When there's nothing left to lose, you win"

If it gets to the point where I'm battling God, I'll take the minuscule chance that he's got a weakness that he's been lying about, given that the alternative would have exactly the same outcome.
