Oh yes, direct troubled teens and kids to the invisible man in the sky, not therpists, doctors, the authorites, or school counselors.

I wonder how many of these people who preach about using the Bible to solve everyone's problems have actually READ the Bible.

Well, John, I guess you can teach your young people whatever myth you want.
Hypothesis: HP has reignited an interest in reading, among children. Ovbiously reading is not good for fundies. Do you think they're complex enough to perceieve the threat and construct a religious objection? I don't...but I kind of like it.

Harry potter is **fiction**.
If you want your jesus children to have a different example, write a top selling series of books on how reall life conflict is solved by opening one's bible to search out a solution.
In the meantime, just find something ELSE to complain about now that the Potter series is finished.

Harry Potter reads the bible.
Now that would have been one boring book!

I like paganism because it's proactive. I don't sit around searching some moldy old book for solutions to my problems. I figure it out myself.

Well it's good then that you're not teaching all the young people then isn't it?

And what does the Harry Potter series and the Bible have in common? They are both pieces of fiction.
Harry Potter teaches Good vs Evil, and that family and friends are the bedrock of life.
What does the bible teach? Murder, rape, genocide, incest, adultery..
At least Harry Potter had kids wanting to read.

John has a Bible, but apparently not a dictionary. The word is FICTION, John, look it up.

Harry Potter, a fictional character, is somehow in trouble with another fictional character, God. Somebody write the damn fanfic already.

actually he mostly turns to the power of friendship. But I guess relying on your real friends instead of an imaginary sky friend is also a sin.

And while we're on the subject of "some degree of disfunction", I present JohnR7, one of the most seriously lost in myth people I've ever heard of.

Using that kind of logic, you should also get rid of all your computers, calculators, cars, refrigerators, etc. because you are turning to science instead of God.
