I just think a woman should not be in a ministers position. If we look at the lines of authority it seems clear to me. God Jesus Man Woman.

"I just think a woman should not be in a ministers position."
Are we talking about altar boys here, or are these ministers the ones who are preaching against homosexuality by day, and frequenting glory holes at night? Either way, I agree that women probably shouldn't be in those positions...but I don't think many people would argue if they were...
"God Jesus Man Woman"
Did you just call Jesus a woman? The Pope's crack assassination squad will be at your house shortly...
And the line of intelligence seems clear to me:
Atheist, Christian, fundie, god. Small 'g'.
RR Ladies, do you realize that the bible verse to which you ascribe this nonsense is actually an admonishment against women gossiping and chattering during church services? It does not mean one damned thing about women not preaching. Please actually read your bibles, and don't just rely on what Pastor and your husband tell you.
@nfp
Well, there's already "Eat Drink Man Woman". How about "Eat Drink God Jesus"?
... no, wait, that's a Catholic mass.
Or a blasphemous zombie movie. "He came to raise us from the dead. He did it WRONG!" Cue a robed and haloed messiah running from a horde of zombies. "They eat his flesh and drink his blood ... but its essence isn't bread and wine!" Cue shining figure on a giant throne, a la a Chick Pamphlet, as zombies swarm all over him like cockroaches. A lightning bolt fries one, but two more take its place and begin chewing. "See ... EAT DRINK GOD JESUS! Nothing can save God now!"

I agree. Missionary position, on the other hand...
Hang on, you left out Squid!
God, Jesus, Squid, man, woman
So a woman can judge and be a prophetess in the Hebrew bible (Debra) but when the Levite rule on ministers was lifted in the Greek bible, women get the shaft? Psst, 2nd Timothy was a suggestion for an early church that was having problems with gentile women asking questions during service and with a number of women not knowing much about the religion before teaching it. It was NOT said by or made a law by god. SO KNOCK IT OFF!!
God and Jesus and Holy Ghost is one entity according to the teachings of nearly every christian group out there. So when speaking of God you are also supposed to speak of Jesus. And all attributes you give one of them also apply to the other two. So, in fact, you just said: Noone is authority of God, and God is authority of God. Ergo: God is Noone, or in other words your God does not exist.
Either that or your whole line of authority is something you pulled out of your ass. I think I'll go with the latter.
I believe RR is based in Stepford.
I also believe they are a waste of bandwidth.
Never in my 45 years as a Minister, have I come across such a misguided flock who profess to being christians, yet thier posts display the contrary.
They also display a stark ignorance of the teachings of the bible.
From an evolutionary standpoint, that is the correct progression. Whatever comes next, if it survives, is better.
Okay, I'm going to assume that whatever nutcase church you attend at least occasionally covers the Resurrection and doesn't spend every moment on "Jesus is coming soon!"
Assuming that's true, think back to the empty tomb being discovered. The Gospels differ on exactly who was there, but they agree that the disciples were all in hiding and Mary Magdalene being there.
And you know what else they agree on? Jesus told Mary Magdalene, "go tell everybody I rose from the dead!"
What does that mean? The very first person Jesus appointed to preach was a woman! So put that into your misogynist pipe and smoke it.
We have lots of women ministers in Sweden, the first ones were ordained in 1960. God doesn't seem to mind...
Lines of authority? It's government, the judiciary system, the police force, citizens (BOTH male and female).
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
