It is so sad that Satan has injected the thoughts into people's minds that they cannot have a personal relationship with God and that somehow the people that serve God are "brainwashed" into doing so. When you feel love and have a relationship with someone, do you consider yourself brainwashed? Probably not, so it is with people that have allowed Christ to live inside them. When Christ lives inside you you have a love and a relationship with him. That relationship is not determined by a minister or a church, its within. I love Jesus, he talks to me and we have a thing going on.

when loves makes you stronger, no that is nto brainwashing.
When what you think is love justifies being an asshole to others, believing in things that are factually untrue and deciding others are inferior to you because they are different, that couldbe brain washing.
Love is the ascension of the self, not it's submersion to another.
Yadda, yadda yadda. Apparently Ann M. is the Whore of Babble-On.
This post and a couple of the replies have given me an epiphany.
Fundamentalism is the result of having watched the movie "Love Story" too many times. The line, "Loving someone(God or Jesus, hmmm?) means never having to say I'm sorry."
Fundamentalsts are always claiming to be about love and yet they cannot apologise for any of the evil, bigoted, hate-filled, ignorant things they say and do. And who else would fall for such a pathetic sentiment, anyway.
I know this is bullshit but it makes as much sense as all the ideas fundies have about why atheists are atheists.
But if you claim to be having "a thing" with an imaginary friend, you might as well say you have a personal relationship with a lifesize cardboard cutout of David Hasslehoff. Because one's just as sad and self-deceptive as the other.
In comparison, having a loving relationship with an actual real living breathing 3-dimensional human being (hell, even an effin' pet) is downright normal and expected.
Fortunately, Ann, you can only pick one.
Unfortunately, Ann, you picked wrong.
"When you feel love and have a relationship with someone, do you consider yourself brainwashed?"
If it's an entirely subjective telepathic relationship with an invisible flying undead person, then I should. And so should you.
Actually: When your in love with someone, its been compared to a drug addiction. So, a bit of brainwashing does happen.
At least in a human relationship, you know the other person exists.
It is so sad that you believe the delusional rhetoric you just spewed.
Also, it sounds to me like you just want to have a big black man from the middle east inside you.
I'm not saying that's a bad thing for you to want, mind you. I'm just sayin'.
:-P
people that have allowed Christ to live inside them
What, you mean like in Alien? No thanks!
I love Jesus, he talks to me and we have a thing going on.
Meeeee aaaaand jezuz; jezuz Jones, jezuz Jones, jezuz Jones, jezuz Jones; we got a thing, goin' on!
When you feel love and have a relationship with someone, do you consider yourself brainwashed?
The difference being that, in my case, the people I love actually exist .
Probably not, so it is with people that have allowed Christ to live inside them. When Christ lives inside you you have a love and a relationship with him.
I'm not even gonna touch this one.
I love Jesus, he talks to me and we have a thing going on.
Seek professional help.
"I love Jesus, he talks to me and we have a thing going on."
And the voices in my head assure me that Natalie Portman is really in love with ME! She LOVES me, I tell you!
(I usurped god.)
"I'm not even gonna touch this one.
Worry not, my fellow un-brainwashed 'Net-user. Peter Steele already took care of that.
*goes over to his sound system, inserts a certain Type O Negative CD, and selects the song "Christian Woman", a song about a woman whom Ann M. appears to resemble very closely; BTW, anyone who isn't familiar with the song can hear it at the following URL*

Of course not. To be fair though, I've never dated anyone who threatened to kill me if I thought about dating someone else.
I love Jesus, he talks to me and we have a thing going on.
Ann, you desperately need to get laid. Maybe after some guy makes you bark like a dog you'll discover that a good boning is so much more satisfying than beating that Bible.
Jesus lives inside you, eh? Sounds like a parasite...
You and Jesus have a thing going on? Sounds steamy...
When I have a personal relationship with someone, I not only expect them to return my calls, but to treat me as I treat them, as an equal. Your imaginary god does neither of those things. Your relationship with him is as of a slave to his owner, and such a relationship is in no way personal.
"When you feel love and have a relationship with someone, do you consider yourself brainwashed?"
Yes, my brain was literally awash with oxytocin and dripping in cortisol. This is what makes you jittery, anxious, excitable, drippy, and all the rest.
Ain't chemistry great?!
I love Jesus, he talks to me and we have a thing going on.
Well actually his real name is Dwain, and trust me honey, you wont be the first one who fell for his "I'm Jesus" BS. And Dwain, if you read this, I swear I'll find you and when I do I'll rip your balls off with my bare hands you lying son of a bitch.
An abused spouse who goes on about how he's a really good guy, it's just that the kids and her make him mad, is certainly brainwashed.
That's how your god comes across.
we have a thing going on
Living in Sin , eh...?!
Confused?
