Hey everyone, I live in N.J. and in case you haven't already heard the HORRIBLE news...they just legalized gay marriage here. Marriage is not a right, it is a privilege...something that two people of the same sex do NOT deserve!

What joyful news!

There may be hope for New Jersey yet.

(I bet if you looked up at the clouds, you'd see the angels partying!)

(Just kidding! There ain't no such thing as angels!)

Hey everyone, I live in Georgia and in case you haven't already heard the HORRIBLE news...they just legalized interracial marriage here. Marriage is not a right, it is a privilege...something that two people of different races do NOT deserve!

It's a priviledge?, how funny that any single individual from 18 upwards has that "priviledge". Can it be considered a priviledge any more?

Miss Blasphemy

I'm so happy!! Great news :D

Hey everyone, I live in Germany and in case you haven't already heard the WONDERFUL news...they just illegalized being Jewish here. Being a Jew is not a right, it is a privilege...something that Jew people of that religion do NOT deserve!

Actually, the way laws are written it's not a privilege, it's an advantage!

This was in 2006 and nothing of the sort happened. We can only hope, though.

But two entirely unpleasant people of opposite sexes totally deserve it?

Does the above sound weird to you? It does to me. Once we start legislating if consenting adults - regardless of sexuality, personality, background wev - can or cannot get married we slide into fundie territory.

You don't have the monopoly on morals, Jeremy. Marriage is a choice not a privilege.

I notice that Jeremy Oestreiche is remarkably unpatriotic with anti-American sentiments.

America IS the constitution!

The country is evolving, get on board or get left back in the stone age, or was it the bronze age?

Is this true? Yay for New Jersey in that case.

"... they just legalized gay marriage ..."

NO THEY DIDN'T. NJ legalized domestic partnerships/civil unions in 2006. In February 2007, the state's attorney general issued a memo indicating that New Jersey will recognize same-sex marriages that occur in other states where they are legal.

Jeremy Oestreicher should be embarrassed that someone living hundreds of miles away is more knowledgeable about what's going on in his own state than he is.

Jezebel's Evil Sister beat me to it. I live in NJ, and I was going to say "WTF, since when?!"

Funny how marriage is still a 'privilege', but any idiot is allowed to reproduce to no end.

Funny, I thought both his posts were very American and revealed the bigoted viewpoints.
