Quote# 4512

God created Time, not man!... the traditional irrational madness that man follows blindly [time zones] in keeping international time as we... are traeted to the 'new year celebrations' in Australia by satellite news without... concern at the obvious paradox billions are able to swallow and ignore that supposedly it is not 'new year' here... Imagine God creating space and time... was time different at different places, was there a sphere of different times where the earth was to be? It is not so hard to see that there was not and thus that time was the same everywhere... of course time is not different in different places, one cannot travel forwards and backwards in time just by stepping from side to side...

First I came here and was incited to respond.
Then I started to laugh, and sometimes doubt (trolls).
Now I am starting to fear for our species.

The general stupidity and excessive use of ellipses made my eyeballs melt. Luckily, I was able to step to the side and go back in time to warn my past self not to read the quote.

You know, if rwc109 wants to plot his entire day off of UTC (or, given his religious bent, more likely Jerusalem time), he's free to do that. The rest of us will continue to use anthropocentric timekeeping because, you know, it makes things so much easier to understand.

that's the stupidest thing I've ever heard.

just because "time" doesn't change from place to place doesn't mean "time of day" doesn't.

Perhaps the Flat Earth Society has a special rate for an introductory membership for you. The rest of us know better. The las time I travelled to Europe, I set my watch ahead five hours, and it was correct when we landed., not late. When I talk on the radio to hams across the ocean, I'm getting ready for dinner as they're getting ready for bed. Radio Australia has a relay of its somestic shows. When I'm eating breakfast, RA has a show called PM or Late Night. How would this happen if it were the same time everywhere?

Either rwc109 is taking drugs or he's not taking the right ones.

Get him some anti-psychotics immediately.

I think the measurement of the progression of events (sunrise, noon, sunset) which is measured as time was created by man for man's benefit in organizing our lives

beyond that, time is an abstract concept

Someone isn't aware that the concept of Time is an invention of humankind and that the time zones were created to help farmers.
