Quote# 46527

Perhaps there should be an International Code of Religious Conduct.

All Religions must demonstrate:
Love
Joy
Peace
Patience
Kindness
Goodness
Faithfulness
Gentleness
Self Control

(Against such there is no law Gal 5:22,23)

Religions that do not, are subject to censure and restrictions. This would include those who carry out an acceptable religion in an unaccceptable way.
It would also include non-religions or where people have made a law unto themselves.

Yeah, good luck with getting the worlds religions to agree to that.

Dude, this is exactly what they should be saying. If only more people thought like this.

It's all good, and all the religions teach that ... until they start rubbing elbows, then all that shit's out the window.

This quote isn't fundie. The fundie 'hate the gheys' message would fail right out of the code this guy wants.

Suggesting that an International Code of Religious Conduct should be applied to 'non-religions' is dumb but not especially fundie.

Agreed. Now are you willing to apply these standards to yourself and your brethren?

All Religions must demonstrate:

Stop! Would you include yourself in that? If so you have failed to demonstrate... well, fuck... you've failed to demonstrate all of them!

This would include those who carry out an acceptable religion in an unaccceptable way.

And that includes Rapture Ready...

They just don't think things through, do they?

What they really mean is that you should display those traits to others that believe in the same sky fairy that you do. Others can definitely be killed.

RR would not survive for five minutes under those rules, being filled with bigots and irrational haters.

... Additionally, all religions should accept Christ as our savior and that God is the one true as it is clearly stated to be so in the bible.

You can't apply one religions rules to other religions, you can't even get Christianity to abide by it's own 'fruits of the spirit,' I think they're called.

The one thing that keeps me from religion is the guilt trip. The guilt trip and the scare tactics, yes, the two things that hold me back, the guilt, the fear, and the shame that comes from being alive.

Anyone who talks about "acceptable" and "unacceptable" religions, and "censure and restrictions" for some religions, isn't exercising some of that big long list of good qualities.
