Alex, we are TOTALLY primates. Humans and chimpanzees share a common ancestor, chimps and humans have an ancestor with gorillas, etc... Here's the human taxonomy (note the ALL CAPS):
Kingdom: Animalia
All animals.
Phylum: Chordata
All animals with backbones
Class: Mammalia
All mammals
ORDER: PRIMATES
All mammals that are primates, which are prosimians and Anthropoids (Anthropoids being Old World and New World Monkeys, lesser apes and the great apes)
Family: Hominidae
All the great apes
Tribe: Hominini
Humans (living and extinct), common chimpanzees, and bonobos.
Genus: Homo
Modern and extinct humans
Species: Homo sapiens
The only humans left... Us!
The OP better learn some biology, and look into the research on the biological origins of compassion and empathy. Chimpanzees are known to show empathy to one another, they just aren't nearly as good as it as humans are.
