LOL, that's still nothing like beetles and beavers having a common ancestor.

But your choice of example does remind me of one thing. I seem to recall that Darwin was partly inspired by a pigeon breeder. The breeder produced really weird looking birds. He reasoned that, if interbreeding can produce such variety in a short period of time, then given enough time, nature could produce the variety of various species.

The funny thing is that isn't what the pigeon breeder proved at all. What he proved is that, given an intelligent outside force (the breeder), you can produce a great deal of variety very quickly.

Like I said, anyone can interpret evidence to support their assumptions.

No one cares about the WoW forums, it's just teenagers fighting with their parent's morality.

Like I said, anyone can interpret evidence to support their assumptions.

Actually that might be the smartest thing I've ever heard a fundie say.

Then he found some finches and realized the outside force was just a catalyst and was unnecessary to the overall process!

We need to dismantle that forum. It's getting worse by the day.

Yeah...unless the breeder deliberately cut them open and fiddled around with their DNA, he had nothing to do with it.

Evolution is in diversification, not interbreeding.

This is why I know that if we ever create life in a laboratory these buttfaces will just start screaming "YOU SEE!? YOU SEE?! INTELLIGENCE IS NEEDED TO CREATE LIFE! GODDIDIT!!!"

I've since resigned myself to the fact that these backward thinking morons will kill the truth if the truth would kill their religion.

That's a very scary thought.

I'm Frank.

It's all true. God is actually a breeder who spends all his time making different creatures fuck each other so he can see what comes out. We are the repercussion of millions of years of hot monkey sex by a horny and twisted god.

"Like I said, anyone can interpret evidence to support their assumptions."

Not anyone, only lying, willfully ignorant fundies.

So God did it by using evolution. Fair enough.

@Loulmotron

He probably spent most of his time playing with beetles and watching them fuck. The monkey thing was probably more of a side project.

Now replace the pidgeon breeder with the forces of natural selection and you might stumble upon an actual thought.

Education, Kalenda... What is it you have against education? Why are you opposed to being educated? Why do you promote being stupid?

"Like I said, anyone can interpret evidence to support their assumptions."

Therefore you could say that the breeder provided evidence for theistic evolution. Hah!

Is it considered bad etiquette if I "oh snap!" my own comment?

So, in other words, Kalenda does believe in evolution, but only if it's helped along by divine intervention?

*shrugs* At least she agrees that evolution happened.

What he proved is that, given an intelligent outside force (the breeder), you can produce a great deal of variety very quickly.

The "intelligent outside force" is just doing what nature does: letting only the ones with certain characteristics live and reproduce. The only "intelligence" is the choice of characteristics. The breeder doesn't change the pigeons' DNA - that happens naturally. In nature, they're chosen by the climate, food supply, mate preferences, etc., while the breeder has his own criteria: color, size, etc.
