• 43 percent of homosexual men had more than 500 partners.

Um, I'm not a statistician, but shouldn't it be mathematically impossible for only 24 percent to fall into the "100 or more category", then have 43 percent fall into the "500 or more" category? Phrased differently, this could be a histogram or something, but still...

*sighs* Mathamatics doesn't work that way!

IF 43% of homosexual men had more than 500 partners (which is bullshit, but let's treat the statistics as proper maths just for a moment), then that 43% would INCLUDE the 24% from the 'homosexual men had more than 100 partners' listed before that. Okay?

Now, you simply CAN'T then say that '28% of homosexuals have had more than 1000 partners', because 28% is LESS than 43%. The number would HAVE to be more than 48%, because you'd need to include the 48% in the same way that you included the 24% in the previous example.

For a forum that also quipped "Readers/Posters in this forum are MUCH better educated on the facts than your average person.", you seem to have a bit of a trouble grasping that THIS IS NOT HOW PERCENTAGES WORK!!

Even the stupid bigots that inhabit Rapture Ready have to realize that these statistics are contradictory. What am I saying? These are the hypocrites that worship an idea not found in the Bible and consistently violate the 9th commandment for their political agenda. They really are a disgrace to Christianity.

You fail at math. It's not possible for a greater percentage to have 1,000+ partners than 100+ partner, since those with 1,000 partners would by default be in the 100+ category.

Fundie math hurts my brain.

I have a gay friend who hasn't had any partners either. He's a lovely bloke but women throw themselves at him. He's an awful person to be around.
