[Re: You can't preach here, this is a Muslim area]
Well, this is a sad case. Christians are being persecuted the world over and now this... I'm sad but not surprised at all. Christians are not "politically correct". Soon we may even be persecuted in North America. There are so-called Human Rights tribunals in Canada that have worried many believers here. Some socialists here want to be "inclusive" to the point that only Christians will not find room at the inn... it won't be long I'm afraid until the Holy Bible is declared hate speech. Although it's already considered that by some special interest groups.

Idiots, all of you. And the cops in the article were right, they probably would have beaten them up. I know if you tried to walk up to me and convert me when you KNEW I didn't want you to, I'd be ready to do some punching.
Just for the record, the event in question occurred in Birmingham, England.
And you know how weird English laws are with regards to religion.

You mean you missed it, dildojesus? I already declared it was.
I highly doubt that you personally, or anyone you know, have ever been persecuted. You are a member of the majority religion in north america, with no other religion even close in number of belivers, and you have the gall to claim you and your kind are peing persecuted? I'd like you to name a single "special interest group" that publicly considers the bible to be hate speech, just one.
I see that "socialist" is now the new religious right buzzword of the day, do you even have the slightest idea what socialism is all about? From the kind of talk I hear coming from fundies these days you'd think that the sole tenet of socialism was to persecute christians. And for what it's worth an "inclusive" society wouldn't exclude christians, not that I expect you to understand that.
I think almost all of the claims of persecution of christians in north america is nothing more than a combination bullshit, end times fantasy, and psuedo-religious masochism. They have become so used to persecuting those who are not like them that they percive not being able to opress others as persecution. I see it all the time, with the same breath they use to cry "persecution" they also exclaim "gays, atheists, muslim, etc. how dare these people have rights! We must take them away". So many of them have either forgotten or never even read the part of the bible where the man they claim to follow told them to "judge not, lest ye be judged ". Their hypocrisy knows no bounds.

I've been hearing this lie since Christian summer camp (Camp Gilead) back in the early 80s. The worst persecutions you guys suffer is when some natives out in B.F.E. kill/eat your missionaries. Call me a defeatist but if a group of people kept killing my missionaries I'd take the hint and stop sending them there. Here in America the "persecution" amounts to very small groups of people asking or telling you to shut the f*** up.

If I stood on a street corner and ranted about an invisible creature that killed anyone and everyone who disagreed with me, I'd expect to get the "hate speech" label. Why would you think your hateful book is any different?
"Oh, we're so oppressed. All we have done is bring the word of god to the ignorant world, and kill an average of 1630 people per day for the last 1600 years doing it".
Religion is man's worst invention, and christianity the worst of all.
This took place in the UK. I agree, the PCSO (a civilian volunteer, not a police officer) was probably wrong to stop the Christians evangelizing, and the Police admitted it. OK, the preachers were acting idiotically but being an idiot isn't a criminal offence. That said, the Police (and I suppose by extension PCSOs) are charged with 'keeping the Queen's peace' and stopping behavior that could possibly start a disturbance is in keeping with that.
Edit: having checked, I see that PCSOs have only the following powers
Issuing of fixed penalty notices (e.g. riding on footpath; dog fouling; litter).
Power to confiscate alcohol and tobacco.
Power to demand the name and address of a person acting in an anti-social manner.
Power of entry to save life or prevent damage.
Removal of abandoned vehicles.
So it seems the PCSO was acting ultra vires. The problem the fundies seem to have here is that the PCSO involved was only reprimanded, not punished more harshly. As PCSOs are part-time volunteers I guess it's hard to be more severe, they can just quit.
Please, please, please can we restore the colosseum in Rome and murder and torture these poor christians. They seem to want it so much that I am starting to feel guilty I am not persecuting them. But they would have to promise to be kind to the lions and tigers as they were eating them. I am an animal lover and I think they have rights too - just like homosexuals.
Childojesus goes to a Muslim congregation
Childojesus: "Repent, sinners! Your false god is of the devil! You are on the road to hell! Jesus is the light! There is one true God! *continuing for ten minutes*"
Muslim: "Hey, can you shut up, please?"
Childojesus: "Help! I'm being persecuted! My religious rights are being denied!"
Wow! I just discovered this after all this time. It's interesting to note that the insults and rebukes all came from a post I made on WWCO so long ago. In any case, I admit that there are far more serious examples of real persecution in nations such as China where 100 million Christians are essentially being monitored, harrassed, tortured and arrested - even jailed by their goverment for the crime of accepting Jesus Christ as the personal Lord and Savior. Still, my point being that in the Western world, it's not so much that Christians are persecuted, but rather that hatred and opposition to my Almighty God and Savior Jesus Christ is growing at a rapid pace. Political correctness and the secular modern world are the enemy of Christians and of God Himself. The world systemitself is emnity against God. The media, for the most part in Canada, politics and the public in general have no use for Jesus Himself and often speak out against Him in a variety of ways. It's more a general growing tide...a groundswell of dislike and hatred towards God and His Word that I speak of. Still, everyone has freewill and no one can be forced to believe in Jesus or accept Him as Lord and Savior. God loves people too much to force His will upon anyone. I wish you all well, despite the negativity my post generated, may you all find it in you one day to consider the very real Grace and Love of Jesus Christ in your own lives. God bless you all.

By the way...
Of course we have no use for god, just as how we have no use for Hitler or Skinheads. And yes, the Bible is even more evil than Mein Kampf, just read Deuteronomy 25, verses 11 to 12.
childojesus,
Please don't accuse everyone else of being an enemy of God, when he's the one who's become our enemy by being a mass murderer, and commanding humans to do the same. If Christians want to worship Jesus, then no one cares. However, when Christian Fundamentalists want to destroy science, education, free will, and human rights, they have become dangerous.
I can tell you from personal experience that Christians spend waaaay more time persecuting others(in history and up to the present day), than they have ever spent being persecuted themselves.
When intellectuals(heretics) and the media(devil-worshipers) call you out on your B.S.(inbreeding started the human race, kill unbelievers, etc.), that isn't "persecution", that is simply stating the facts.
If you don't like it, then don't watch the news.
Furthermore, murdering tens of millions of people over a 1,600 year period for not agreeing with your views is "persecution", so please get over your self.
If the day ever comes when the government starts burning churches and exterminating Christians, THEN, and only then, are you getting "persecuted".
And yes, if that day comes, I will stand up for human rights, even though most Fundamentalists wouldn't do the same for me.
Peace be with you.
